Alvin Kamara RB | NO
Saints' Alvin Kamara: Remains sidelined Wednesday
Kamara (back) will not practice Wednesday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Kamara will miss a second consecutive day of practice due to back tightness. Head coach Dennis Allen downplayed the severity of Kamara's situation Tuesday, so the veteran running back doesn't appear to be dealing with anything that will keep him off the field for too long. If Kamara's back issue keeps him from suiting up in Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers, Jamaal Williams could pick up the bulk of the snaps with the starters, especially while Kendre Miller (hamstring) remains a non-participant at practice.

Jahmyr Gibbs RB | DET
Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Limited concern from coach Campbell
Lions head coach Dan Campbell suggested Wednesday that he's optimistic about Gibbs' health after the running back suffered a hamstring injury in Monday's practice, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports. "I think we're gonna be fine here," Campbell told 97-1 The Ticket Detroit. "So, I think we'll be good."
Campbell didn't get into details or provide a timeline for Gibbs, merely hinting at general optimism. Gibbs suffered the injury 27 days before Detroit's season opener Sept. 8 at the Rams, and while he's unlikely to practice for at least the next week or two, he seemingly has a chance to be ready for the rematch of last year's wild-card playoff game.

Carson Steele RB | PHI
Chiefs' Carson Steele: Increased reps at RB
Steele saw more action at running back with the first-team and second-team offensive units during Tuesday's practice than he had previously in camp, Jesse Newell of The Kansas City Star reports.
Steele turned four carries into 29 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 26-13 preseason loss to the Jaguars, earning himself more opportunities with the top offensive packages. The 21-year-old took advantage of another absence for Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) on Tuesday, seeing additional work over the likes of Deneric Prince and Keaontay Ingram according to Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com. Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy said Tuesday that Steele is "doing a lot of good things and being in the right spot at the right time, and that you can trust him." It's unclear what role he will have with the team in 2024, whether at running back or fullback, but Steele is doing a good job of endearing himself to the coaching staff.

Mohamed Ibrahim RB | MIN
Mohamed Ibrahim: Receives full medical clearance
Ibrahim (hip) was cleared for football activity Tuesday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
Ibraham ended the 2023 season on the Lions' practice squad injured list with a hip injury he sustained in Week 7 against the Ravens. Now healthy, he'll look to catch on with a team in need of running back depth.

John Kelly RB | CLE
Ravens' John Kelly: Picked up by Baltimore
The Ravens signed Kelly to a contract Tuesday.
Kelly spent most of last season on Cleveland's practice squad but didn't suit up for a regular-season game with the team. The 2018 sixth-round pick now has a chance to compete for a deep depth role in Baltimore, with his best-case scenario likely to be a spot on the practice squad again.

Dante Miller RB | NYG
Giants' Dante Miller: Dealing with hamstring injury
Miller (hamstring) was limited at practice Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Miller impressed during New York's preseason opener against the Lions, when he rushed 12 times for 63 yards and secured both of his targets for seven yards, but he's now dealing with a hamstring injury that could impact his status for Saturday's exhibition game against Houston. With Tyrone Tracy (ankle) having suffered a low-ankle sprain at practice Tuesday, Miller is facing an opportunity for increased reps if he can get healthy without missing much time.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. RB | NYG
Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Has low-ankle sprain
Tracy was diagnosed with a low right-ankle sprain after he got injured during Tuesday's practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Initially, Tracy was believed to have suffered a serious injury because he needed an air cast on his lower right leg and was carted off the practice field before being taken to the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. However, the rookie fifth-rounder was back in the team facility a few hours later, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, with his lower right leg in a boot. Tracy's prognosis is week-to-week, which presumably will keep him sidelined for the Giants' final two preseason games but could allow him to be available Week 1 against the Vikings.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. RB | NYG
Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Diagnosed with ankle sprain
Tracy suffered a sprained right ankle during Tuesday's practice, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
According to Dan Duggan of The Athletic, Tracy's lower right leg appeared to buckle as he reached for a ball during a kickoff drill, and the rookie fifth-rounder eventually was carted off the field with the leg in question in an air cast. Tracy then was escorted to the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan to be evaluated further. Fortunately for Tracy, he's already back in the Giants' facility for meetings, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, meaning he seems to have avoided a major injury. With two preseason games left on New York's slate, the team will likely exercise caution with Tracy, and the missed practice time could impact his standing in the RB pecking order behind starter Devin Singletary.

Alvin Kamara RB | NO
Saints' Alvin Kamara: Dealing with back injury
Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Kamara didn't practice Tuesday due to back tightness, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Prior to Tuesday's session, Kamara participated in walkthrough, so he wasn't without some activity, and Allen told Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune afterward that the running back's situation is "not a big deal." Kamara handled six offensive snaps during this past Saturday's preseason win at Arizona, but it's unclear if the current concern will affect his availability for Sunday's exhibition at San Francisco.
