  • Keenen Brown TE | HOU

Keenen Brown: Gets practice squad call

The Texans signed Brown to their practice squad Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Brown joins his hometown team, as he played his college football at Texas State, where he caught 51 passes for 577 yards and five touchdowns in 2018. He'll be a longshot to earn a spot on a 53-man roster in Houston or elsewhere around the league.

  • Hunter Henry TE | NE

Chargers' Hunter Henry: Listed as limited participant

Henry (knee) was limited at practice Wednesday, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.

It remains to be seen if the tight end will be able to suit up Sunday night against the Steelers, but Henry -- who suffered a tibia plateau fracture to his left knee in Week 1 -- is clearly progressing to the point at which he's a candidate to re-enter the fantasy equation as soon as he's able to log his usual complement of snaps.

  • Josh Oliver TE | MIN

Jaguars' Josh Oliver: Remains limited Wednesday

Oliver (hamstring) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.

It's the fourth straight practice as a limited participant while Oliver continues progressing toward his return from the hamstring injury sustained in early August. The rookie third-round pick should have a chance to carve out a solid role in the offense once he's cleared for game action; No. 1 tight end James O'Shaughnessy was lost for the season with a torn ACL.

  • Chris Manhertz TE | NYG

Panthers' Chris Manhertz: Works at full speed

Manhertz (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.

Manhertz appears on track to play in Sunday's game versus the Buccaneers, but he'll first need to be cleared by an independent neurologist. If he's unable to get the green light, Manhertz will have a bye week to recover before Week 8's game versus the 49ers.

  • Hunter Henry TE | NE

Chargers' Hunter Henry: On track to return to practice

Henry (knee) is slated to practice in a limited capacity Wednesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Henry, who suffered a tibia plateau fracture to his left knee in Week 1, thus continues to trend in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Steelers approaches. It remains to be seen if the tight end will progress to the point that he'll be active this weekend, but Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com previously relayed via coach Anthony Lynn that Henry "was moving around pretty good last week" while working with trainers.

  • Mark Andrews TE | BAL

    Ravens' Mark Andrews: Sidelined Wednesday

Andrews (foot) isn't practicing Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

That's not especially surprising given that Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun relayed Monday that the tight end would have to continue to manage his foot issue this week. It's something Andrews has played through of late, with seemingly no impact on his overall production. He's logged at least seven targets in each of Baltimore's first five games, turning that ample volume into 28 receptions for 311 yards and three scores.

  • Evan Engram TE | DEN

Giants' Evan Engram: Out for Week 6

Engram (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Patriots.

Engram faced a quick turnaround from the MCL sprain he sustained in the Week 5 loss to the Vikings, so it's not too surprising that he'll be sidelined for his first game of the season. With three other key skill-position players -- Saquon Barkley (ankle), Sterling Shepard (concussion) and Wayne Gallman (concussion) -- also ruled out, the Giants won't have many established options for rookie quarterback Daniel Jones to rely on against a formidable New England defense. Rhett Ellison will act as Engram's primary replacement at tight end in Week 6.

  • T.J. Hockenson TE | MIN

    Lions' T.J. Hockenson: Making progress

Hockenson remains in the concussion protocol but is expected to participate in practice Wednesday, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.

Coming off Detroit's bye week, Hockenson appears to have made at least some progress through the NFL's five-step protocol for head injuries. The rookie first-round pick will benefit from a bit of additional time to get healthy before Monday's divisional tilt in Green Bay, although it still remains unclear whether he'll ultimately play Week 6. Even if he resumes practicing with contact by the end of the week, he'll need to receive full clearance from an independent neurologist to guarantee his availability Monday night.

  • Dawson Knox TE | BUF

Bills' Dawson Knox: Slow Week 5 outing

Knox caught just two of five targets for 12 yards in Sunday's win at Tennessee.

While Knox saw a season-high 72 percent of the offensive snaps and still doesn't have to compete with starter Tyler Kroft (ankle) for looks, the game flow just didn't go his way in what was a low-scoring battle between two close-to-the-vest teams. Knox has emerged as Josh Allen's third favorite target in the passing game behind John Brown and Cole Beasley, but with a bye on tap and Kroft seemingly set to return at some point, the rookie's production could take a hit in future weeks.

  • Hayden Hurst TE | LAC

Ravens' Hayden Hurst: Snags four passes in win

Hurst caught all four of his targets for 32 total yards during Sunday's 26-23 overtime win over the Steelers.

Not a ton was going right for the Ravens pass offense Sunday with Lamar Jackson throwing a trio of interceptions and fellow tight end Mark Andrews continuing to struggle while dealing with a foot issue. Still, Hurst managed to set a career high in receptions. It doesn't look like much, but it was a performance that Hurst may have an opportunity to build on depending on Andrews' health as the Ravens next take on the winless Bengals.
