MyCole Pruitt TE | PIT
MyCole Pruitt: Waived by Bears
Pruitt was waived by the Bears on Friday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Pruitt was a long shot to make the final roster anyway, as he was among the least qualified of the seven tight ends the Bears had in training camp. He's now free to sign with another team.
-
M.J. McFarland TE | DAL
M.J. McFarland: Time's up in Dallas
McFarland was cut by the Cowboys on Friday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
McFarland's second stint with the Cowboys ended just like his first. He's now eligible to sign elsewhere.
-
Braedon Bowman TE | NO
Braedon Bowman: Waived by Saints
Bowman was waived by the Saints on Friday, Mark Inabinett of AL.com reports.
Bowman was trying to make it as a long snapper with the Saints. He's now free to sign elsewhere.
-
Brandon Barnes TE | DET
Brandon Barnes: Cut by Jets
Barnes was waived by the Jets on Friday, Connor Hughes of The Star-Ledger reports.
Barnes didn't make an impact in the box score during the preseason, so his exclusion from the 53-man roster shouldn't come as a huge surprise. He will now hit the free-agent market, assuming he goes unclaimed through waivers as expected.
-
RaShaun Allen TE | HOU
Rashaun Allen: Waived/injured by Texans
Allen was waived with an injury settlement by the Texans on Friday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The exact nature of Allen's injury is currently unknown, but with the injury settlement, the veteran tight end will have the ability to sign with any team he wishes as soon as he is healthy enough to play.

C.J. Uzomah TE | PHI
Bengals' C.J. Uzomah: Won't land on IR
Uzomah (ankle) will be out for a few weeks but won't end up on injured reserve, Jim Owczarski of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Uzomah is still recovering from a left ankle sprain that he suffered roughly three weeks ago, and it appears as though he still has several more weeks to go in his recovery. The 24-year-old is expected to serve as a depth option at tight end for the Bengals this season.
-
Larry Donnell TE | BAL
Larry Donnell: Released by Ravens
Donnell was released by the Ravens on Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Donnell was signed by Baltimore back at the end of July following a disappointing 2016 season with the Giants. His release shows that the Ravens, even with Crockett Gillmore's season-ending knee injury, feel as though they have enough depth at tight end with the likes of Nick Boyle, Ben Watson and Maxx Williams.
-
Chris Pantale TE | MIA
Dolphins' Chris Pantale: Returns to field Thursday
Pantale (concussion) recorded two catches for 18 yards in Thursday's preseason finale against the Vikings.
Pantale returning to the field Thursday night means that he is officially out of concussion protocol after spending nearly two weeks going through testing. He had one last opportunity to impress the Dolphins coaches in the team's final preseason game before they make final roster cuts.
-
David Njoku TE | LAC
Browns' David Njoku: Finally flashes talent
Njoku caught two of three targets for 28 yards in Thursday's preseason finale against the Bears.
Njoku's presence in the final preseason game supports the notion that he'll begin his rookie season with a limited role, after finishing the exhibition slate with four catches for 41 yards on eight targets in three games. It's unclear how the reps at tight end will be split up among Njoku, Randall Telfer and Seth DeValve in Week 1 against Pittsburgh.
-
Temuchin Hodges TE | NYJ
Vikings' Bucky Hodges: Leaves game with head injury
Hodges left Thursday's preseason game against the Dolphins and is being evaluated for a concussion.
Hodges has shown sparks this preseason that indicate he could be useful as a fourth tight end, but it remains to be seen if his current injury will derail his opportunity for a roster spot.
