Although he was listed as a non-participant, Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew did some running off to the side at Friday's practice, the Detroit News reports.

This marks the first time since Week 1 that the media has seen Pettigrew running. He still seems unlikely to play in Monday's game against the Seahawks, but the progress at least suggests he should be back for Week 5 or 6. Until that happens, Eric Ebron will continue to play the vast majority of offensive snaps, absorbing the in-line blocking role that's normally filled by Pettigrew, in addition to his own role as a pass-catcher.

Colts tight end Dwayne Allen (ankle) is listed as questionable for the Week 4 game against Jacksonville.

Allen was able to practice in a limited fashion both Thursday and Friday, which suggests that he has a decent shot to suit up.

Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew (hamstring) didn't take part in Thursday's practice, the Lions' official site reports.

Pettigrew has yet to practice since injuring his hamstring in the regular season opener, but he's unlikely to factor into the passing game much when healthy due to Eric Ebron's prowess as a receiver.

Colts tight end Dwayne Allen (ankle) returned to a limited practice Thursday, Colts.com reports.

After not practicing Wednesday, Allen's return Thursday bodes well for his chances of rejoining the Colts' lineup for Sunday's contest against the Jaguars.

Packers tight end Andrew Quarless (knee) was placed on the IR/designated-to-return list Wednesday, the Packers' official site reports.

Quarless' sprained MCL was expected to required 4-6 weeks of recovery anyway, so he should be approaching full health when he's eligible to return in eight weeks.

In the interim, Kennard Backman will move into the backup tight-end role, but expect another body to enter the TE ranks in the near future.

Colts tight end Dwayne Allen (ankle) did not suit up for practice Wednesday, Kevin Bowen of Colts.com reports.

The report relays Allen said Tuesday he expects to play this weekend against the Jaguars, but his absence from practice Wednesday suggests that such an outcome is not a lock. The tight end's outlook on that front would of course improve should he return to practice in some capacity Thursday.

The Chargers have announced they have released tight end Kyle Miller.

The transaction suggests that Ladarius Green (concussion) is expected back for Week 4. Miller was merely signed to temporarily provide depth.

Packers tight end Andrew Quarless (knee) will be out 4-6 weeks weeks with a sprained MCL, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Richard Rodgers has received most of the snaps at tight end, but Quarless has cut into his workload. Potentially looking at an every-down role for a month or more, Rodgers could emerge as a low-end Fantasy option, though he'd likely still be touchdown-dependent.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce finished with 80 yards from six receptions (on 10 targets) during Monday's game against the Packers. 

Kelce's 10 targets set a career-high Monday night and his 80 receiving yards were fueled by a long gain of 38 yards, once again displaying Kelce's unique big play ability for a tight end.

Although running Jamaal Charles stole most of the red zone work, fellow teammate Jeremy Maclin's strong performance Monday could afford Kelce less attention from opposing defenses moving forward, another encouraging development for his fantasy stock.

Packers tight end Andrew Quarless (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of Monday's game against the Chiefs. 

The Packers have not provided any details about the knee injury Quarless suffered in Monday's game, but the setback will prevent him from returning to the contest, and puts his availability for Week 4 in question.
