  • Tyler Warren TE | IND

Colts' Tyler Warren: Excels in Week 1 win

Warren brought in seven of nine targets for 76 yards and rushed once for three yards in the Colts' 33-8 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.

The Colts, notorious for their scant tight-end usage over the last several seasons, wasted no time getting Warren involved in his first taste of NFL regular-season action. The rookie first-round pick was targeted on three of the first five plays from scrimmage, converting those opportunities into gains of 14, eight and 21 yards. While Warren's pace would naturally slow over the rest of the game, he still finished with team-high reception and target totals while also recording the second-most receiving yards on the afternoon for Indianapolis. It's clear involving Warren will be a priority, affording the Penn State product an abundance of momentum heading into a Week 2 home matchup against the Broncos next Sunday.

  • Saints' Juwan Johnson: Leading receiver against Cards

Johnson caught eight of 11 targets for 76 yards in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Cardinals.

Arizona's Trey McBride came into the game as the big-name tight end, but Johnson bested him in targets, catches and yards while posting game-high totals in the latter two categories. New Orleans' new offense under coach Kellen Moore could be a boon to all the team's top pass catchers, as Spencer Rattler attempted a career-high 46 passes despite the fact that the score remained fairly close the whole way, and his reliance on Johnson is especially promising for the 28-year-old TE. Johnson will look to make a splash again at home Week 2 in a matchup against another elite player at his position, San Francisco's George Kittle (hamstring), assuming the latter is available.

  • Trey McBride TE | ARI

Cardinals' Trey McBride: Six grabs in Week 1 win

McBride caught six of nine targets for 61 yards in Sunday's 20-13 win over the Saints.

He led the Cardinals in receptions, but it was Marvin Harrison who produced a team-high 71 receiving yards. McBride is coming off a massive 2024 campaign in which he posted a 111-1,146-2 line on 147 targets, and while a breakout season from Harrison could cut into the tight end's volume, Arizona's target tree figures to be narrow. McBride will look to stay productive at home in Week 2 against the Panthers.

  • Rams' Colby Parkinson: Returns Sunday

Parkinson (shoulder) returned in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Texans, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

Parkinson briefly left for the locker room to be evaluated for a shoulder injury. The injury doesn't appear to be a severe one, as the 2020 fourth-rounder is back on the field for the Rams. He logged a one-yard catch at the start of the second quarter prior to his injury.

  • 49ers' George Kittle: Out with hamstring injury

Kittle won't return to Sunday's game at Seattle due to a hamstring injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Kittle paid a visit to the blue medical tent in the first half before he was spotted with a hat on not long before the 49ers ruled him out. He thus will end Week 1 action with four catches (on four targets) for 25 yards and one touchdown. Luke Farrell and Jake Tonges will handle TE duties for San Francisco for the rest of Sunday's contest.

  • Rams' Colby Parkinson: Injures shoulder Sunday

Parkinson is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Texans due to a shoulder injury.

It's unclear when Parkinson suffered the injury, but he was evaluated by medical staff on the sidelines before heading into the locker room, where he will undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury. Davis Allen is slated to step up as the Rams' TE3 behind Tyler Higbee and Terrance Ferguson if Parkinson is unable to return.

  • Brock Bowers TE | LV

Raiders' Brock Bowers: Downplays knee issue

Following Sunday's 20-10 win over the Patriots, Bowers downplayed the knee issue that caused his exit from the contest, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Per Pelissero, Bowers indicated afterward that he's fine, with the tight end noting that he took a little hit on his knee (which he got checked out ) and that there are no concerns moving forward. Meanwhile, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Bowers wanted to return to Sunday's game, but the Raiders' training staff elected to hold him out. In any case, added context regarding Bowers' Week 2 status will arrive no later than Thursday, when Las Vegas takes the practice field ahead of next Monday's contest against the Chargers.

  • Brock Bowers TE | LV

Raiders' Brock Bowers: Exits Sunday's game

Bowers exited Sunday's season opener against the Patriots with a knee injury.

Prior to that, Bowers had caught five of his eight targets for 103 yards. In his absence, Michael Mayer and Ian Thomas are available to handle the Raiders' TE duties.

  • Ben Sims TE | MIA

Packers' Ben Sims: Won't play Week 1

Sims (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Lions, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.

Sims will be in street clothes for Sunday's regular-season opener while Tucker Kraft, Luke Musgrave and John FitzPatrick serve as the Packers' active tight ends. Sims' next chance to make his 2025 regular-season debut is Thursday against the Commanders.

  • Nick Kallerup TE | SEA

Seahawks' Nick Kallerup: Won't make NFL debut Week 1

Kallerup (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's tilt against San Francisco.

Kallerup managed to make Seattle's 53-man roster after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in early May. However, he isn't likely to play much unless one or more of the tight ends ahead of him on the depth chart -- AJ Barner, Elijah Arroyo and Eric Saubert -- needs to miss time.
