Raiders' Brock Bowers: Week 2 return remains possible
The knee injury Bowers is recovering from "is not overly serious," and it's "possible" he will return in Week 2, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.
Head coach Klint Kubiak said Monday that Bowers is considered day-to-day, and the latest report reaffirms an earlier one that indicated Bowers could miss only "a game or two." A better estimate of Bowers' availability for Week 2 will likely be able to be made after the Raiders release their first injury report of the week Wednesday.

Head coach Klint Kubiak said that Bowers (knee) won't practice Wednesday but hopes the tight end will be able to Thursday and/or Friday, Sam Warren of The Athletic reports.
Bowers is a little more than a week removed from undergoing a meniscus trim on his left knee, for which he sat out the Raiders' Week 1 win against the Dolphins this past Sunday. His next practice reps would mark his first since the surgery, so getting back on the field in some capacity this week would give him a chance to return to action Sunday at the Chargers. Another absence from Bowers, though, would allow Michael Mayer exclusive access to TE reps in the Raiders offense.

Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak labeled Bowers (knee) as day-to-day Monday, Sam Warren of The Athletic reports.
After Bowers underwent a meniscus trim procedure last Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the star tight end expected to miss only "a game or two" before making his 2026 debut. Though a partial meniscectomy often entails a recovery period closer to one month, Bowers -- who sat out the Raiders' season-opening win over the Dolphins -- appears to be bouncing back well from his operation and looks like he could have a real chance of suiting up next Sunday against the Chargers. Per Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com, Kubiak said that he'll heed the advice of trainers in determining when Bowers will be ready to play, and the 23-year-old's activity in practices is also likely to be a factor in the decision. While Bowers was sidelined for Week 1, Michael Mayer stepped in as the Raiders' top tight end versus Miami and finished with six catches for 32 yards on seven targets.

Raiders coach Klint Kubiak confirmed Friday that Bowers (knee) won't play Sunday against Miami, but Kubiak did say the tight end "will be back soon," per Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site.
When asked if an absence of 1-to-2 games was an accurate expectation, Kubiak replied, "I'm not going to talk about timelines," per Sam Warren of The Athletic. Head coach Klint Kubiak has yet to officially rule Bowers out for Sunday's season opener versus the Dolphins, but the standout tight end is fully expected to be sidelined for Week 1 -- and likely, additional games beyond that -- after Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Bowers underwent a meniscus trim procedure Tuesday. Though the previous report indicated that Bowers is expected to miss "a game or two," Schefter clarified Thursday in an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that that timeline is coming from the tight end's camp and may be overly optimistic. For however long Bowers is sidelined, Michael Mayer is expected to take on an expanded role in the passing game as the Raiders' top tight end, and starting wideouts Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor also will have clearer paths to elevated target counts.

This is huge news just before the season gets underway, as one of the top tight ends in the league is now expected to miss regular-season time.
