  • David Njoku TE | CLE

Browns' David Njoku: Misses Thursday's practice

Njoku (ankle) missed practice Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Njoku practiced fully Wednesday, so his addition to the Browns' injury report a day later is notable. As Cabot notes, the tight end dealt with an ankle issue earlier this season, but it's unclear at this stage if his absence from Thursday's session is maintenance-related or indicative of a setback. Look for added context on that front to arrive no later than Friday, when the Browns practice again.

  • Tommy Tremble TE | CAR

Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Limited in practice again

Tremble (back) was limited in Thursday's practice.

Tremble has logged two consecutive limited practices since suiting up for Carolina's loss to the Broncos in Week 8. He'll work to prove his health in time to take the field Sunday versus the Saints. If good to go for Week 9, Tremble will be in line to start at tight end for quarterback Bryce Young, with rookie fourth-rounder Ja'Tavion Sanders handling No. 2 reps.

  • Dallas Goedert TE | PHI

Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Still not practicing

Goedert (hamstring) isn't taking part in Thursday's practice, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.

Goedert hasn't practiced since making an early departure from a Week 6 matchup with the Browns due to a hamstring issue, and with just one more chance to get back on the field during Week 9 prep, he's in danger of missing a third game in a row. Friday's injury report may provide some clarity regarding Goedert's status entering the weekend.

  • Jody Fortson TE | KC

Chiefs' Jody Fortson: Suffered torn ACL, meniscus

Fortson (knee, IR) suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in the Chiefs' Week 8 win over the Raiders last Sunday, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.

The nature of Fortson's right knee injury, which landed him on injured reserve Monday, was previously unknown, but it's safe to say the tight end's 2024 season is over with this news. Signed to Kansas City's 53-man roster on Oct. 4, Fortson appeared in three games for the Chiefs and caught one of his three targets for five yards across 40 offensive snaps.

  • Raiders' Harrison Bryant: Limited in practice

Bryant (elbow) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Bryant misses Las Vegas' loss to the Chiefs in Week 8 due to an elbow injury, so it's encouraging to see him back on the practice field in at least a limited capacity. He'll work to gain clearance in time for Sunday's road matchup against the Bengals, with the target of working as a complement to rookie phenom Brock Bowers.

  • Hayden Hurst TE | LAC

Chargers' Hayden Hurst: Practices in limited fashion

Hurst (groin) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Hurst has missed two straight games due to a groin injury, despite being listed as questionable ahead of both contests. Top tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) didn't practice in any capacity Wednesday, but he began Week 8 the same way before suiting up for last Sunday's win over the Saints and being targeted seven times. Hurst will have two more chances to increase his practice activity before the Chargers decide whether he takes a designation into Sunday's game against the Browns.

  • Will Dissly TE | LAC

Chargers' Will Dissly: Sits out Wednesday's practice

Dissly (shoulder) didn't practice Wednesday, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.

Dissly missed practice last Wednesday and Thursday before returning to a limited session Friday and approaching the Chargers' Week 8 game against the Saints listed as questionable. The tight end was ultimately cleared to play in the 26-8 win, finishing with five catches for 41 yards on seven targets. With no reported setbacks with his shoulder, Dissly may have sat out Wednesday's practice for maintenance purposes. Meanwhile, fellow tight end Hayden Hurst (groin) -- who has missed two straight games -- was a limited participant in the Chargers' first practice ahead of this weekend's game against the Browns.

  • Noah Fant TE | SEA

Seahawks' Noah Fant: Dealing with groin issue

Fant practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday due to a groin injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Through eight games this season, Fant has surpassed a 50 percent snap share on seven occasions, resulting in a cumulative 27-285-0 receiving line on 32 targets. With receiver DK Metcalf (knee) sitting out Wednesday and wideout Tyler Lockett (oblique) being a limited participant due to a new health concern, three of the Seahawks' top pass catchers are banged up at the moment. Thursday's and Friday's sessions thus will be key to how the team's receiving corps will break down Sunday versus the Rams.

  • Stone Smartt TE | LAC

Chargers' Stone Smartt: Dealing with ankle issue

    Smartt (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday.

Smartt failed to record a stat while playing 16 special-teams snaps in the Chargers' Week 8 win over the Saints, but it now appears he picked up an ankle injury in the process. The third-year tight end from Old Dominion will almost certainly need to upgrade to at least limited participation Thursday or Friday to play in Sunday's matchup in Cleveland.

  • Eagles' Albert Okwuegbunam: Logs full practice Wednesday

Okwuegbunam (abdomen) was a full participant during Wednesday's practice session.

Okwuegbunam started the regular season on injured reserve after undergoing a core muscle repair procedure. His 21-day practice window opened Oct. 16, and despite logging full practices since then, he has not been activated from IR. If Okwuegbunam is able to practice in full over the next two days, he'll give himself a good chance of making his regular-season debut against the Jaguars on Sunday.
