  • Colts' Ricky Seals-Jones: Lands on IR

The Colts placed Seals-Jones (foot) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Seals-Jones departed practice on a cart Aug. 17. His right foot and ankle were wrapped upon exiting, but the precise nature and extent of the injury haven't been made clear. The veteran tight end didn't play at all last season, and he could miss 2023 as well unless he and the Colts agree on an injury settlement.

  • Cameron Latu TE | PHI

49ers' Cameron Latu: Heads to injured reserve

The 49ers placed Latu (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Latu sustained a meniscus injury in Friday's preseason loss to the Chargers and will undergo surgery. The rookie third-rounder will be forced to miss the entire 2023 campaign due to the injury after landing on injured reserve Tuesday, and he'll shift his focus toward recovering ahead of the 2024 season.

This was always his likely destination, as he was buried on the team's depth chart, but lasting all the way to final cuts indicates he made a good impression. He will now either get an offer to land on Philly's practice squad or else look for a new opportunity.

  • Ben Sims TE | MIA

    Ben Sims: Waived by Minnesota

The Vikings waived Sims on Tuesday, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
