  • Jakeem Grant WR | ATL

Falcons' Jakeem Grant: Catches on with Atlanta

The Falcons signed Grant to a one-year deal Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Grant missed all of 2023 after suffering a ruptured patellar tendon in the preseason. He had a tryout with the Giants in July, but he will now head to Atlanta to compete for a return specialist role with the Falcons. His last full season was in 2021, when he played 15 regular-season games between the Dolphins and Bears, accumulating 250 punt return yards and one touchdown while adding 11 catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

  • Keon Coleman WR | BUF

Bills' Keon Coleman: One catch in preseason opener

Coleman caught one of three targets for eight yards in Saturday's 33-6 preseason loss to the Bears.

Coleman didn't make much of a splash in his NFL debut, with his lone catch coming on a pass thrown by backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky. Coleman worked in with the starting wide receivers, but Josh Allen's pair of first-quarter completions went to Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel. Coleman's expected to play a significant role as a rookie in a Bills receiving corps that lost Stefon Diggs in the offseason, and the 2024 second-round pick out of Florida State will try to put forth a stronger showing in next Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers.

  • Rome Odunze WR | CHI

Bears' Rome Odunze: Blanked in preseason debut

Odunze didn't catch his only target in Saturday's 33-6 preseason win over the Bills.

Chicago's starters played two drives, and DJ Moore was the only wide receiver to record a catch over that span, notching two receptions for 27 yards. It was a quiet preseason debut for Odunze, who didn't play in the Hall of Fame Game last week. Odunze could be more involved in next Saturday's preseason game against the Bengals as the Bears try to get the rookie ninth overall pick some touches prior to the regular season.

  • David Bell WR | CLE

Browns' David Bell: Exits game with quadriceps injury

Bell left in the first half of Saturday's preseason game against the Packers due to a quadriceps injury and is questionable to return, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Bell headed back to the locker room due to the injury, per Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. Prior to his exit, Bell caught his lone target for five yards.

  • DJ Moore WR | BUF

Bears' DJ Moore: Catches pair of Williams passes

Moore caught two of three targets for 27 yards in Saturday's 33-6 preseason win over the Bills.

Moore was the only wide receiver to record a catch while rookie quarterback Caleb Williams was in the game, as Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze combined for only one target. Those offseason additions could cut into Moore's volume after Moore led the team with 136 targets last season, but Chicago's entire passing game has a much higher ceiling with Williams under center than it did with Justin Fields last season. Moore will look to keep building chemistry with Williams as the Bears continue preseason play next Saturday against the Bengals.

  • Terry McLaurin WR | WAS

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Catches one pass from rookie QB

McLaurin caught his only target for three yards in Saturday's 20-17 preseason loss to the Jets.

McLaurin accounted for one of Jayden Daniels' two completions on the only drive that the rookie quarterback played. After topping 1,000 receiving yards in each of the previous four seasons, McLaurin projects to work as the top target for Daniels in 2024. The veteran wide receiver will look to keep building chemistry with the 2024 second overall pick in next Saturday's preseason game against the Dolphins.

  • Malachi Corley WR | CLE

Jets' Malachi Corley: Four catches in NFL debut

Corley caught four of five targets for 27 yards in Saturday's 20-17 preseason win over the Commanders. He also had a 33-yard kickoff return and one punt return for no gain.

Corley caught the only completion quarterback Tyrod Taylor had in his two drives to start the game, and the 2024 third-round pick stayed in for the remainder of the first half after Andrew Peasley checked in under center. The rookie wide receiver's route running needs refinement, but Corley's a handful to bring down with the ball in his hands, so the Jets tried to give him opportunities in space Saturday on both offense and special teams. Corley may not get a chance to work with starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a game situation during the preseason, as Taylor will most likely start again in next Saturday's preseason game against the Panthers.

  • Jerry Jeudy WR | CLE

Browns' Jerry Jeudy: Not slated to face Packers

Jeudy (leg) is not in line to see action in Saturday's preseason opener against the Packers.

Jeudy has been managing a leg issue, and with the Browns not slated to play several key skill players -- including fellow wide receivers Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore -- it's no surprise that Jeudy also won't be seeing snaps Saturday. Cedric Tillman, David Bell, Jamari Thrash, Jaelon Darden, Michael Woods, James Proche, Matt Landers and Ahmarean Brown are the team's available WRs versus Green Bay.

  • Amari Cooper WR | LV

Browns' Amari Cooper: Not on track to play Saturday

Cooper is among the key Browns' skill players not in line to see action in Saturday's preseason opener against the Packers.

The same goes for QB Deshaun Watson, RB D'Onta Foreman, fellow WRs Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore, as well as TE David Njoku. Cooper's next chance to see exhibition action will arrive Aug .17 against the Vikings.

  • Garrett Wilson WR | NYJ

Jets' Garrett Wilson: Likely not suiting up

Wilson is not expected to play in the team's preseason opener against the Commanders on Saturday.

The Jets are expected to hold out almost the entirety of their projected starters, so the star wide receiver likely not playing is hardly a surprise. Wilson's preseason ADP reflects optimism regarding New York's offense, especially now that multi-time MVP Aaron Rodgers is back healthy from a Week 1 torn Achilles.
