  • Britain Covey WR | PHI

Eagles' Britain Covey: Added to active roster

Covey was elevated to the Eagles' active roster Saturday.

The 26-year-old was waived by Philadelphia on Aug. 29 before agreeing to join their practice squad one day later. Covey will add depth to the Eagles' special teams unit, as he was primarily used for returning punts and kicks last year. The Utah product appeared in 16 games for the Eagles during his rookie campaign, racking up 514 total return yards.

  • Tre'Quan Smith WR | DET

Saints' Tre'Quan Smith: Goes on IR

Smith (groin) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Smith hasn't practiced since Aug. 5 due to a groin injury, so this designation is hardly surprising. Chris Olave, Michael Thomas and Rashid Shaheed project to be the team's three leading receivers for the foreseeable future.

  • Cooper Kupp WR | SEA

Rams' Cooper Kupp: Placed on injured reserve

Kupp (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Head coach Sean McVay essentially confirmed Kupp would move to injured reserve earlier this week when he refrained from suggesting a timetable for return. The star wideout aggravated a preseason hamstring injury last week and won't be eligible to return until Week 5 at the earliest. Expect some combination of Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell, Puka Nacua and Tyler Higbee to assume more receiving opportunities in Kupp's absence.

  • Commanders' Jamison Crowder: Moves to active roster

Crowder was elevated from the Commanders' practice squad Saturday.

The veteran wideout is expected to return punts Sunday, with Dax Milne (groin) on injured reserve. Crowder played in just four games with the Bills last season and bounced around a few practice squads before joining the Commanders after preseason cutdowns.

  • Juwann Winfree WR | HOU

Colts' Juwann Winfree: Bumps up to active roster

Winfree was elevated from the Colts' practice squad Saturday,Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Winfree will provide some depth to a receiving corps that had just three wide receivers on the active roster following cutdown day. The long-time Packers wide receiver has just nine total catches in his four-year career to date.

  • Joseph Ngata WR | PHI

    Joseph Ngata: Staying in Philadelphia

Ngata re-signed with Philadelphia's practice squad Friday.

Ngata will once again join the Eagles' practice squad despite having originally been released a day prior. The 22-year-old will hope to stick around for longer this time around after going undrafted out of Clemson earlier this year.

  • Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: No role limitations after surgery

Coach Pete Carroll said Friday that Smith-Njigba won't have any limitations Sunday against the Rams despite have wrist surgery less than three weeks ago, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Reports on a return timeline were all over the place after the rookie broke a bone in his wrist during a preseason game, and he ultimately made it back on the field in keeping with the most optimistic of estimates. Smith-Njigba was a full practice participant throughout the week and should quickly become one of the league's busier No. 3 receivers, even while sharing an offense with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

  • DeVante Parker WR | PHI

Patriots' DeVante Parker: Questionable to face Philly

Parker (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Eagles after being limited at practice this week, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.

Parker's status is thus worth monitoring ahead of Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff, and if he's out or limited versus Philadelphia, Demario Douglas and/or Kayshon Boutte could see added WR snaps alongside JuJu Smith-Schuster and Kendrick Bourne. Additionally, Jalen Reagor is a candidate to be elevated from the Patriots' practice squad ahead of Week 1 action.

  • Jerry Jeudy WR | CLE

Broncos' Jerry Jeudy: Status in question for Week 1

Jeudy (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest versus the Raiders, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Jeudy made an early departure from practice Aug. 24 due to a right hamstring injury that kept him off the field until Week 1 prep, when he was able to string together three consecutive limited practices. Coach Sean Payton has expressed optimism throughout the week, saying the wide receiver is "doing well" and "looked good" on separate occasions, per Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post. Ultimately, Jeudy's availability Sunday may be tied to how he fares in a pregame warmup, with a decision on his status to be made about 90 minutes before a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. If Jeudy is limited or out this weekend, Courtland Sutton will serve as Denver's top wide receiver, with rookie Marvin Mims and Brandon Johnson also in the mix and all of Phillip Dorsett, Lil'Jordan Humphrey and David Sills candidates to be elevated from the practice squad.

  • DeAndre Carter WR | CLE

Raiders' DeAndre Carter: Questionable for Week 1

Carter (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.

The veteran wideout and return man was limited in practice all week. Carter set career highs as a receiver with the Chargers last season, turning 65 targets into a 46/538/3 line. He's slated to be a depth piece on offense in Las Vegas this year.
