Velus Jones Jr. RB | SEA
Bears' Velus Jones: Unavailable Sunday
Jones (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Jones was limited to one appearance during exhibition season. He otherwise dealt with injuries before and after that showing in preseason Week 2, missing all three practices ahead of the opener due to a hamstring issue. In Jones' stead, Darnell Mooney, Equanimeous St. Brown, Byron Pringle, Dante Pettis and Ihmir Smith-Marsette will man wide receiver for the Bears.

Laviska Shenault Jr. WR | BUF
Panthers' Laviska Shenault: Won't play opening week
Shenault (coach's decision) is inactive Week 1 against Cleveland.
Shenault was acquired by the Panthers on Aug. 29, but it doesn't appear as if he's acclimated himself quickly enough to warrant an active status in the opening week. Carolina will move forward with a receiving corps led by DJ Moore, Robbie Anderson, Terrace Marshall and Rashard Higgins, with Shi Smith and Andre Roberts also set to be active for the contest. One Panthers writer, Joe Person of The Athletic, does expect Shenault to be active Week 2 against the Giants.

Drake London WR | ATL
Falcons' Drake London: Cleared for pro debut
London (knee) is active for Sunday's game versus New Orleans, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Though the rookie first-round pick missed the Falcons' final two preseason games due to the knee injury and was limited in practice throughout the week, he'll be ready to take the field Sunday for his NFL debut. Despite missing ample time during his first camp with Atlanta, London enters the season listed atop the depth chart at receiver and is expected to fill a prominent role in a passing attack helmed by quarterback Marcus Mariota. London will be battling with last year's first-round pick, tight end Kyle Pitts, for status as Atlanta's No. 1 target.
-
Michael Thomas WR | NO
Saints' Michael Thomas: Suiting up Week 1
Thomas (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game at Atlanta, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Thomas will be making his first regular-season appearance since Dec. 13, 2020, after he missed the entire 2021 campaign while recovering from the ankle surgery he required last summer. He was cleared for full participation in training camp in late July but picked up the hamstring injury a few weeks later. Thomas was a limited participant in practice throughout the week, but he appears to have demonstrated enough progress to not only suit up Week 1, but also play with few restrictions to his snap count. That being said, Thomas' projection for Week 1 is somewhat murky given his long layoff from competitive action, his limited experience with quarterback Jameis Winston and his presence in a new-look receiver room that includes veteran Jarvis Landry and first-round rookie Chris Olave.

Allen Lazard WR | NYJ
Packers' Allen Lazard: Slated to sit out Week 1
Lazard (ankle), who is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Vikings, isn't expected to play, Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report.
Lazard's absence will likely be made official 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, when he's expected to be included on the Packers' inactive list. With Lazard on track to sit out Week 1, the Packers will be left with Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb as their top two receivers, leaving rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs to vie for snaps at the No. 3 spot.
-
Jakobi Meyers WR | JAC
Patriots' Jakobi Meyers: In line to face Dolphins
Meyers (knee), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The wideout looks on track to suit up Week 1 after having logged a trio of limited practices leading up to the contest. As long as he can avoid any pre-game setbacks, Meyers will be in line to handle his usual key pass-catching role against DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor, facing off against a Dolphins secondary that could be vulnerable without Byron Jones (ankle).
-
Chris Godwin WR | TB
Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Could be on snap count Week 1
Godwin (knee), who is listed as questionable but expected to suit up for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Cowboys, could be on a snap count for the contest, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Godwin was a full participant in Friday's practice, but the Buccaneers haven't yet officially cleared him for Week 1 while he makes his way back from the torn ACL and MCL sprain in his right knee he suffered in December. Though Godwin should ultimately gain clearance when the Bucs release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, the team looks as though it could continue to take a cautious approach to his early-season usage and ramp up his snap share as the 2022 campaign unfolds. Tampa Bay also has Russell Gage (hamstring) listed as questionable versus Dallas, while Mike Evans and Julio Jones are good to go.

Drake London WR | ATL
Falcons' Drake London: On pace to make debut Sunday
London (knee), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints, is in line to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
London picked up a knee injury in the Falcons' exhibition opener and was unable to practice again until Week 1 prep. The rookie first-round pick thus was limited in all three sessions and entered the weekend with a designation. Assuming he's deemed active roughly 90 minutes before Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, London will join second-year tight end Kyle Pitts as quarterback Marcus Mariota's top two receiving threats.
-
Michael Thomas WR | NO
Saints' Michael Thomas: On track to play Sunday
Thomas (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Atlanta, is slated to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
After logging limited sessions during the entirety of Week 1 prep, Thomas was tabbed with a designation for the opener. He's been dealing with a hamstring issue since at least Aug. 21, but he looks destined to be available Sunday in some capacity for what will be just his eighth game since the start or the 2020 season. Assuming he's active, Thomas will serve as one of quarterback Jameis Winston's top wide receivers along with Jarvis Landry and rookie first-round pick Chris Olave.

River Cracraft WR | WAS
Dolphins' River Cracraft: Joins active roster
The Dolphins have called up Cracraft to their active roster ahead of Sunday's opening game agains the Patriots.
Cracraft was unable to earn a spot on Miami's final roster after training camp and subsequently signed with the team's practice squad. He is now available to suit up in Week 1 and help provide depth at wide receiver. However, he is more likely to provide contributions on special teams.
