  • Cardinals' Andre Baccellia: Signed to active roster

Baccellia has been signed to the Cardinals' active roster ahead of Sunday's opening clash against the Chiefs, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

With Rondale Moore (hamstring) ruled out, Baccellia has been called up to help provide depth at receiver. However, his most likely impact on the field figures to come on special teams. He will enter the game as the No. 5 wideout on the depth chart.

  • Chiefs' Daurice Fountain: Elevated from practice squad

Fountain has been elevated from Kansas City's practice squad ahead of Sunday's season opener against the Cardinals.

Fountain gives the Chiefs some added wideout depth in advance of their season opener; however, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mecole Hardman and Skyy Moore continue to profile as the team's top options at the position ahead of Week 1 action.

  • Browns' Michael Woods: Out for opener

Woods (illness) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's Week 1 matchup with the Panthers, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.

After being limited at practice earlier in the week due to a hamstring issue, an illness is what will ultimately keep Woods sidelined for the Browns' season opner. The rookie will have to wait another week to make his NFL debut. He is expected to provide depth at receiver and potentially contribute on special teams heading into the season.

  • Bears' Equanimeous St. Brown: Should get snaps Week 1

St. Brown should be one of the Bears' top three receivers for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Darnell Mooney is the clear No. 1, with St. Brown and Byron Pringle up next in an unknown order. The difference between second and third could be big in terms of snaps/routes, as the Bears seemingly want to use a lot of heavier formations this season, carrying four TEs and two fullbacks on their Week 1 roster. It makes sense given the limited talent at wide receiver, with the likes of St. Brown and Pringle only worth a look in the deepest of fantasy leagues. Rookie Velus Jones (hamstring) could also join the mix at some point, but he's listed as doubtful for Week 1, leaving Dante Pettis as the likely No. 4 receiver.

  • Jalen Reagor WR | MIA

Vikings' Jalen Reagor: Ready for Week 1

Reagor has adjusted quickly to the Vikings' scheme and is in a position to receive snaps Sunday against the Packers, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.

Reagor, who was traded from Philadelphia to Minnesota at the end of August, feels comfortable enough with the Vikings' offensive system, in which he'll have a chance to receive WR snaps Sunday against the Packers. He's listed as the team's No. 4 wide receiver behind Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and K.J. Osborn, and the 2020 first-round pick is in line to serve as the team's starting punt returner Week 1.

  • Russell Gage WR | SF

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: On track to play

Gage (hamstring) is "likely to play" in Sunday's game at Dallas despite being listed as questionable, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

Gage was limited in practice Wednesday through Friday, but he's been participating in some capacity since the end of August or early September after injuring his hamstring Aug. 10 during a scrimmage. Chris Godwin (knee) also is listed as questionable for Sunday night, while Mike Evans and Julio Jones are good to go. Gage may enjoy catching passes from QB Tom Brady, but it's possible the former Falcon slips to fourth on the depth chart if all four are ever healthy at the same time.

  • Greg Ward WR | IND

    Greg Ward: Reaches injury settlement

The Eagles waived Ward (toe) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Friday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Ward was set to miss the remainder of the season after being placed on injured reserve, but he'll now be free to join a new team once fully healthy. The 26-year-old wideout caught 81 of 119 targets for 673 yards and seven touchdowns across his first 23 appearances, but he finished 2021 with just seven catches for 95 yards and three scores across 17 appearances.

  • Rondale Moore WR | MIN

Cardinals' Rondale Moore: Ruled out for Week 1

Moore (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest versus the Chiefs, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Moore left Thursday's practice early due to a hamstring injury, which resulted in no on-field activity to wrap up Week 1 prep. He was set to have an MRI, but the results of that evaluation are unknown. Coach Kliff Kingsbury told Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com on Friday that Moore picked up the issue while running, and the second-year wide receiver now will have to wait to make his season debut. With DeAndre Hopkins suspended six games to begin the campaign and Antoine Wesley (hip) on injured reserve, the Cardinals' receiving corps will be down to Marquise Brown, A.J. Green, Andy Isabella and Greg Dortch this weekend.

  • Russell Gage WR | SF

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Questionable for Week 1

Gage (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Dallas, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Chris Godwin (knee) also is listed as questionable, and while he managed full practices Wednesday and Friday, it's hard to know if he'll play less than nine months after suffering an ACL tear. Gage was a limited practice participant all week after being bothered by his hamstring throughout much of August, making him truly questionable to suit up Sunday night. If both he and Godwin were to miss the game, Tampa likely would turn to Scotty Miller as the third receiver alongside Mike Evans and Julio Jones.

  • Patriots' Ty Montgomery: Questionable for opener

Montgomery (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Dolphins.

If he's available Sunday, Montgomery -- who was a limited practice participant this week -- is a candidate to help fill the change-of-pace void created by the retirement of James White. If he's out or limited, however, rookie Pierre Strong could see added snaps behind top early-down options Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson, with Stevenson potentially factoring into the team's passing game as well.
