  • Jakobi Meyers WR | JAC

Patriots' Jakobi Meyers: Limited practice Wednesday

Meyers was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to a knee injury, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Meyers exited the Patriots' preseason finale early with the knee issue, but the fact that he was able to practice Wednesday is a positive indicator with regard to his Week 1 status. Assuming he's available this Sunday in Miami, Meyers is poised to maintain a key role in a Patriots wide receiver corps that also includes newcomer DeVante Parker and returnees Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor.

  • Bears' Velus Jones: Dealing with hamstring issue

Jones was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury.

Jones made just one appearance during exhibition season, otherwise missing time due to undisclosed injuries. The rookie third-round pick made it back to the field Monday, but Wednesday's practice report revealed the nature of his current health concern. Jones has two days to potentially get in some work, at which point the Bears may give him a designation for Sunday's season opener against the 49ers.

  • Russell Gage WR | SF

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Limited with hamstring injury

Gage was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a hamstring injury, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Head coach Todd Bowles was optimistic last week when discussing Gage's availability for the season opener against Dallas on Sunday. A limited practice suggests the wideout isn't quite back to full strength, but he'll still have some time to get there before the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday. Fellow wideout Chris Godwin (knee), who is coming back from an ACL tear, was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, though Bowles noted that both Godwin and the team's medical staff still need to sign off on him playing. Mike Evans and Julio Jones, meanwhile, are locked in and ready to play.

  • Drake London WR | ATL

Falcons' Drake London: Officially limited Wednesday

London (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Scott Bair of the Falcons' official site reports.

The first wide receiver selected in this year's draft, London was knocked out of the Falcons' first preseason game due to a knee injury, which wasn't believed to be a serious issue at the time. Still, he didn't play again during exhibition season and only returned to the practice field Monday. Wednesday's subsequent session was in full pads, before which head coach Arthur Smith said that the Falcons won't make a decision on the rookie's availability for Week 1 versus the Saints until Saturday, per D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

  • Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Limited by quad injury

Waddle was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a quadriceps injury, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.

Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com previously reported that Waddle was working at Wednesday's practice without a protective sleeve on his leg. His involvement in the Dolphins' first Week 1 practice session is a positive sign with regard to his status for Sunday's season opener against the Patriots.

  • Saints' Michael Thomas: Returns in limited capacity

Thomas (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.

After the session, head coach Dennis Allen wouldn't commit to Thomas being available for Sunday's contest in Atlanta, per Mike Triplett of ESPN.com. Thomas has been dealing with a hamstring injury since at least Aug. 21, missing the Saints' final two preseason games and all practices in the meantime. As a result, his ability to get back on the field in some capacity Wednesday is a positive sign in advance of Week 1 action.

  • Tee Higgins WR | CIN

Bengals' Tee Higgins: Good to go for Week 1

Higgins (shoulder) isn't listed on the Bengals' Week 1 injury report released Wednesday.

Higgins will be ready to go for Sunday's season opener against the Steelers after making a full recovery from the surgery he underwent in March to repair a torn labrum. The third-year wideout will reprise his role as a key receiving option for quarterback Joe Burrow this season alongside fellow starting receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd. While playing alongside Chase and Boyd during his sophomore campaign, Higgins logged a fantasy-friendly 74-1,091-6 receiving line over 14 regular-season contests.

  • Ben Skowronek WR | PIT

Rams' Ben Skowronek: Likely No. 3 receiver Thursday

Skowronek could play extensively in Thursday's game against Buffalo with teammate Van Jefferson (knee) ruled out, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Skowronek had a few similar opportunities last season, including in the Super Bowl, and never topped four catches or 43 yards. Still, he'll likely pick up a few of the targets that otherwise might go to Jefferson, putting Skowronek in play as an option for extremely deep leagues and single-game DFS contests.

  • Van Jefferson WR | WAS

Rams' Van Jefferson: Ruled out for Week 1

Jefferson (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's season opener against Buffalo, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Jefferson had minor knee surgery in early August and wasn't able to practice at all this week. He hasn't been ruled out beyond the opener, with Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com relaying that a return to action Week 2 against the Falcons or Week 3 against the Cardinals remains a likely outcome for Jefferson. While Jefferson sidelined for at least Week 1, Ben Skowronek could see plenty of snaps as the Rams' No. 3 receiver, according to Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com.

  • Noah Brown WR | LV

Cowboys' Noah Brown: Good to go for Week 1

Brown (toe) isn't listed on the Cowboys' injury report ahead of Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Brown is ready for the season opener after missing some time this summer with a minor toe injury, and he could have a significant role with Michael Gallup (knee) expected to miss at least one game. CeeDee Lamb is the only Dallas wide receiver who can be considered a lock for significant volume, with Brown, Jalen Tolbert, Dennis Houston, Simi Fehoko and KaVontae Turpin representing the other options at the position. Tolbert has generated the most fantasy interest and should get ample slot snaps, but Brown could also have a regular role for the first week or two.
