  • Kalil Pimpleton: Inks practice-squad deal

The Giants signed Pimpleton to their practice squad Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Pimpleton was waived by the Lions ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline, but he's found a new home with the Giants via the practice squad. The undrafted rookie out of Central Michigan impressed during his first NFL offseason, catching nine of 16 targets for 69 yards across three preseason contests with Detroit.

  • C.J. Saunders WR | ATL

C.J. Saunders: Joins Carolina's practice squad

The Panthers signed Saunders to their practice squad Thursday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Saunders was waived ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline but has returned to the team on a practice-squad deal. The undrafted wideout out of Ohio State dealt with a quadriceps strain for much of August but returned to action during the Panthers' preseason finale, operating mostly as a kick returner. He made his NFL debut last year with Carolina, catching both of his targets for 11 yards.

  • Patriots' Ty Montgomery: Sits out another practice

Montgomery (ankle) remained sidelined during Thursday's practice, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.

Montgomery sustained a right ankle injury during the Patriots' preseason finale, so his progress will need to be monitored ahead of the team's Week 1 contest against the Dolphins. If he's available, Montgomery is a candidate to help fill the change-of-pace/pass-catching void created by the retirement of James White. Also currently in the mix on that front is rookie Pierre Strong, though New England also has three more running back options (J.J. Taylor/Kevin Harris and the versatile Lynn Bowden) to potentially promote from the practice squad.

  • Andre Miller WR | GB

Andre Miller: Waived with injury settlement

The Giants waived Miller (wrist) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Miller broke his wrist during an early-August practice and was set to miss the entire 2022 campaign after reverting to New York's injured reserve list. However, he'll now be free to join a new team once he's fully healthy. The 6-foot-3 tight end signed with the Giants in May as an undrafted free agent out of Maine, where he caught 39 passes for 684 yards and three scores during his final collegiate campaign.

  • Kyric McGowan WR | MIA

    Kyric McGowan: Signs practice-squad deal

The Commanders signed McGowan to their practice squad Wednesday.

McGowan was waived ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline but has returned to Washington via the practice squad. The undrafted rookie out of Georgia Tech caught one of six targets for 27 yards during the Commanders' first two exhibition games but didn't suit up for the preseason finale.

  • Alex Erickson WR | HOU

Alex Erickson: Joins Washington's practice squad

The Commanders signed Erickson to their practice squad Wednesday.

Erickson was released by Washington ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline but has returned to the team via the practice squad. The 29-year-old wideout has plenty of experience as a receiver and return specialist at the NFL level, so he should be a prime candidate to be elevated on a weekly basis.

  • Mason Kinsey WR | TEN

    Mason Kinsey: Signs practice-squad deal

The Titans signed Kinsey to their practice squad Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

As expected, Kinsey returns to the Titans on a practice-squad deal after being waived ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline. The 24-year-old wideout made his NFL debut last season, totaling five snaps (three offensive) during his only appearance in Week 7 against Kansas City.

  • Reggie Roberson: Let go from practice squad

The Titans cut Roberson from their practice squad Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

Roberson was waived ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline but returned to the Titans on a practice-squad deal Wednesday. However, the undrafted rookie out of SMU once again finds himself without a team after Tennessee cut him from its practice squad to make room for Josh Gordon and Kevin Rader.

  • Deven Thompkins: Lands on practice squad

The Buccaneers signed Thompkins to the practice squad Wednesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.

Thompkins rejoined Tampa Bay via the practice squad one day after failing to make the team's initial 53-man roster. The undrafted rookie out of Utah State will now work to continue his development while operating in an emergency depth role.

  • Cade Johnson WR | SEA

Cade Johnson: Brought back on practice squad

The Seahawks signed Johnson to the practice squad Wednesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Johnson was waived amidst Seattle's final round of roster cuts Tuesday after he failed to secure a spot on the team's active roster this preseason. The 24-year-old wideout will now get another look from the Seahawks while on the team's practice squad heading into the regular season.
