  • Keke Coutee WR | MIA

Colts' Keke Coutee: Will not return Saturday

Coutee was ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's game against the Bills after he suffered a groin injury, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Coutee's next opportunity to play should come during the Colts' preseason exhibition against the Lions on Aug. 20, though it's currently unclear if he'll be able to practice leading up to this game. If the wideout is unable to go this week, backups Dezmon Patmon, DeMichael Harris and Ethan Fernea should see increased snaps this preseason.

  • Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Unlikely to play Saturday

Waddle isn't slated to play in Saturday's preseason game in Tampa Bay.

All of Waddle, fellow wide receiver Tyreek Hill, starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and running backs Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert are sitting out the Dolphins' exhibition opener. As a result, the receiving corps will feature Cedrick Wilson, Preston Williams and Trent Sherfield, among others, Saturday.

  • Tyreek Hill WR | MIA

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Not in line to play Saturday

Hill isn't expected to play in Saturday's preseason game at Tampa Bay.

The Dolphins are sitting the vast majority of their starters in the exhibition opener, with fellow wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and running backs Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert taking a seat. With Hill and Waddle out, the team is rolling with Cedrick Wilson, Preston Williams and Trent Sherfield at wideout Saturday.

  • Danny Gray WR | PHI

49ers' Danny Gray: Dealing with pair of injuries

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Gray will miss a few days due to hip and back soreness, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Gray broke loose for a 76-yard touchdown down the left sideline during Friday's preseason win against the Packers, connecting with Trey Lance in the process. Overall, Gray hauled in two of four targets for 99 yards and the score. That said, the rookie third-round pick emerged with a pair of health concerns, which could impact his availability for upcoming joint practices with the Vikings and next Saturday's exhibition in Minnesota.

  • Darnell Mooney WR | NYG

Bears' Darnell Mooney: Catches one pass

Mooney caught one pass for 26 yards in Saturday's preseason win against Kansas City.

Mooney's lone target came in the Bears' second series while Justin Fields was still in the game and represented the team's longest reception of the day. He should be the Bears' top wide receiver this season.

  • Skyy Moore WR | GB

Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Catches three passes

Moore caught three passes for 23 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Bears.

Moore wasn't a factor in Patrick Mahomes' lone drive of the night, but he caught one pass from Chad Henne in the first quarter and two more from Shane Buechele in the second. He'll be using the preseason to prove he deserves a meaningful role this season, though he may be stuck behind JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Mecole Hardman on the depth chart.

  • Panthers' Terrace Marshall: In line to return to practice

Coach Matt Rhule expects Marshall (lower leg) to take part in joint practices with the Patriots on Tuesday and Wednesday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

Marshall has been dealing with a lower leg strain for more than a week, donning a red non-contact jersey in practice and sitting out the Panthers' preseason opener Saturday at Washington. Assuming he's able to get back on the field for one or both of the joint sessions with the Pats, he'll have a decent shot to be available for Friday's exhibition at Foxboro.

  • Chiefs' JuJu Smith-Schuster: Untargeted in preseason contest

Smith-Schuster started Saturday's preseason opener against the Bears but did not receive a target.

The game was Smith-Schuster's first chance to connect with his new quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, but he failed to receive any looks during Mahomes' lone drive. The pair will still have two more chances to sync up before the start of the regular season.

  • DJ Moore WR | BUF

Panthers' DJ Moore: Tending to sore shoulder

Coach Matt Rhule said after Saturday's preseason win at Washington that Moore didn't play due to shoulder soreness, Schuyler Callihan of SI.com reports.

Neither of the Panthers' top two skill-position players (also, Christian McCaffrey) suited up for their exhibition opener, but the reason for Moore's absence was health related instead of a healthy scratch. Moore's next chance to mix into game action arrives Friday at New England, but whether or not he takes the field remains to be seen. In the end, he should make an appearance in the preseason to continue working with Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold, the two candidates to start at quarterback for Carolina in Week 1.

  • Chiefs' Marquez Valdes-Scantling: Starts preseason opener

Valdes-Scantling started Saturday's preseason opener against the Bears, catching one pass for 11 yards.

Valdes was targeted twice in Patrick Mahomes' lone drive. His lone catch kept the drive alive on third down. Mecole Hardman was the only other wideout targeted by Mahomes, with JuJu Smith-Schuster failing to receive a look.
