  • Tim Patrick WR | NYJ

Broncos' Tim Patrick: Getting MRI after knee injury

Patrick is scheduled for an MRI on his knee after leaving practice early Tuesday morning, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Patrick was carted off the field and didn't put any weight on his right leg. Coach Nathaniel Hackett confirmed after practice that the 6-foot-4 wideout is being evaluated for a knee injury. Fellow receiver KJ Hamler was just activated from the PUP list nearly 11 months after suffering a knee injury of his own and figures to see a bigger role if Patrick misses significant time, something Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports is a possibility.

  • Amari Cooper WR | LV

Browns' Amari Cooper: Ankle issue downplayed

Cooper (ankle) won't practice Tuesday, but coach Kevin Stefanski indicated that the wideout should be back soon, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Petrak relays that Cooper tweaked his ankle during Monday's practice, but it doesn't sound like a major issue for the Browns' top wideout. His absence does, however, further tax the depth of the team's WR corps, with David Bell (foot) and Anthony Schwartz (knee) also currently sidelined.

Broncos' Tim Patrick: Carted off field Tuesday

Patrick was carted off the field Tuesday after suffering a possible knee injury, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Per Mike Klis of 9News Denver, Patrick wasn't putting weight on his right leg as he was helped into the trainer's room. If the wideout is forced to miss time, added opportunities would presumably be available for KJ Hamler, who is bouncing back from a knee injury of his own but was activated from the active/PUP list Monday.

  • Skyy Moore WR | GB

Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Injures hip in practice

Moore left Tuesday's practice early due to a hip injury, Matt McCullen of Kansas City's official website reports.

Moore is competing for a role in a WR group that also includes JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Mecole Hardman. It's a favorable situation for the 2022 second-round pick, but also one in which missed practice time could hurt his chances of getting on the field at all. Moore previously missed most of OTAs and minicamp with a hamstring injury.

  • Falcons' Bryan Edwards: Returns to practice

Edwards (shoulder) returned to practice Tuesday wearing a yellow non-contact jersey, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Edwards hurt his shoulder Saturday and missed practice Monday, but it seems he's avoided a serious injury. He'll continue making his case for a starting job in a very thin Falcons receiving corps.

  • Marquise Brown WR | PHI

Cardinals' Marquise Brown: Removed from NFI list

Brown (hamstring) was activated from the non-football injury list Tuesday morning, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Brown can now practice with his Cardinal teammates, after missing the first week of training camp due to a hamstring injury he reportedly suffered during a private workout over the summer. He may be eased into practice with his new team, as there's a high recurrence rate for soft-tissue injuries -- and perhaps even more so for speed-dependent players. Brown has nearly six weeks to ramp up before Arizona's season opener against Kansas City, at which point teammate DeAndre Hopkins will begin serving a six-game suspension.

  • Brandon Powell WR | MIN

Rams' Brandon Powell: Could get receiving work

Coach Sean McVay mentioned on Monday that Powell has shown he's "capable of being not only a really good returner but a capable receiver," per Cameron DaSilva of USA Today.

Powell's usage in 2021 was almost exclusively as a return specialist, with just three offensive snaps to his credit all season, but he did manage to produce 341 return yards and a touchdown in just six regular-season games. Powell does have receiving experience, with 23 receptions for 198 yards and two TDs in his previous two years in the league, and with Van Jefferson potentially missing time with a knee injury, the opportunity is there for Powell to step in and produce in the slot.

  • Buccaneers' Breshad Perriman: Exits practice with leg injury

Perriman pulled up while running a route during individual drills early in Monday's practice and exited the session for good with a leg injury, Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Perriman is battling multiple players for a spot on the latter portion of the wide receiver depth chart, so any significant amount of missed time could be especially costly. The veteran speedster returned to the Buccaneers in 2021 after a season away with the Jets, posting an 11-167-1 line on 18 targets over six regular-season games.

  • Amari Cooper WR | LV

Browns' Amari Cooper: Looked at by trainer

Cooper was attended to briefly by a trainer after catching a touchdown in red-zone drills during Monday's practice, Anthony Poisal of the Browns' official site reports.

The trainer checked out Cooper's right ankle, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports, but the receiver walked to the sideline under his own power. Cooper remained on the sideline for the remainder of practice, and Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski did not provide an update.

  • Van Jefferson WR | WAS

Rams' Van Jefferson: Week 1 status TBD

When asked if he expects Jefferson (knee) to be available for Week 1 action, coach Sean McVay acknowledged Monday "that's up in the air right now," Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

On Monday, it was revealed that Jefferson has "a little knee tweak" and will undergo "minor surgery" on Tuesday to address the issue. Though McVay noted that Jefferson's initial timetable for a return is a few weeks, the Rams expect to have a better feel for exactly when the wideout might return after they "see how the surgery goes." As long as Jefferson is sidelined, Ben Skowronek and Tutu Atwell, among others, figure to see added opportunities to push for early-season reps behind top WR options Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson. Moreover, Odell Beckham remains on Los Angeles' radar, but it's unclear when the free agent will be fully recovered from the torn ACL that he suffered in Super Bowl LVI.
