  • Van Jefferson WR | WAS

Rams' Van Jefferson: Week 1 status TBD

When asked if he expects Jefferson (knee) to be available for Week 1 action, coach Sean McVay acknowledged Monday "that's up in the air right now," Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

On Monday, it was revealed that Jefferson has "a little knee tweak" and will undergo "minor surgery" on Tuesday to address the issue. Though McVay noted that Jefferson's initial timetable for a return is a few weeks, the Rams expect to have a better feel for exactly when the wideout might return after they "see how the surgery goes." As long as Jefferson is sidelined, Ben Skowronek and Tutu Atwell, among others, figure to see added opportunities to push for early-season reps behind top WR options Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson. Moreover, Odell Beckham remains on Los Angeles' radar, but it's unclear when the free agent will be fully recovered from the torn ACL that he suffered in Super Bowl LVI.

  • Odell Beckham: Remains on Rams' radar

Cameron DaSilva of USA Today suggests with reference to Beckham (knee) that there's mutual interest from both parties about the wideout potentially returning to the Rams.

While Beckham's short-term future is clouded by his recovery from a knee injury, he's still evidently on the Rams' radar, a notion confirmed Monday by coach Sean McVay. Though Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson are entrenched as the team's top two wide receiver options, the team's depth at the position took a hit when it was revealed Monday that Van Jefferson is in line to miss a few weeks due to a looming knee procedure.

Rams' Van Jefferson: Slated to undergo knee procedure

Coach Sean McVay relayed Monday that Jefferson is slated to undergo minor knee surgery and is expected to be out for a few weeks, Eric D. Williams of SI.com reports.

While that's not an optimal development for the Rams' wideout corps, it does at this stage sound like Jefferson has a shot to be recovered before Week 1. When healthy, the 2020 second-rounder is projected to serve as the team's No. 3 WR option behind Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson. In Jefferson's absence, the likes of Ben Skowronek, Jacob Harris, Brandon Powell and Tutu Atwell should have added opportunities to make cases for early-season opportunities.

  • Cowboys' James Washington: May have Jones fracture

The Cowboys are concerned that Washington sustained a Jones fracture of his right foot during Monday's practice, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Washington will undergo additional testing over the next day or two before the Cowboys provide an updated diagnosis for his injury, but the early signs weren't encouraging, as he wasn't able to put any weight on his foot while he exited the practice field. Though Washington was held under 400 receiving yards in both of his final two seasons in Pittsburgh, the Cowboys were likely counting on him to have a regular role in three-receiver sets early on during the upcoming campaign while Michael Gallup (knee) finishes his recovery from a torn ACL. The Cowboys now look to be at risk at entering Week 1 sans both Gallup and Washington.

  • Cowboys' James Washington: Injures foot Monday

Washington sustained a foot injury during Monday's practice, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Washington landed awkwardly while attempting to come down with a catch on a go route, after which he was unable to put any weight on his right leg before needing a cart to go to the locker room. The severity of the injury remains unknown but should be divulged in due time. With Michael Gallup still in recovery mode from a torn ACL, rookie third-rounder Jalen Tolbert and Noah Brown are the Cowboys' top healthy reserve wide receivers behind top option CeeDee Lamb.

  • Cowboys' James Washington: Carted off with injury

Washington was carted off the practice field Monday after suffering an apparent right leg injury, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Washington didn't put any weight on his injured leg and then was carted back to the locker room. He's in the mix for a Week 1 starting job, especially with Michael Gallup (torn ACL) considered unlikely to be ready for the opener. If both Gallup and Washington miss time, rookie Jalen Tolbert would be looking at a huge opportunity.

  • Mack Hollins WR | NE

Raiders' Mack Hollins: Performing well in training camp

Vic Tafur of The Athletic describes Hollins as having impressed during the Raiders' offseason program and training camp.

Hollins has played well on the field while also providing a positive presence in the locker room with his new team. The offseason addition at wide receiver is likely to secure a roster spot, but earning significant playing time will be difficult unless Hollins beats out both Keelan Cole and Demarcus Robinson for snaps behind Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow.

  • Raiders' Demarcus Robinson: Brings speed to Vegas WR corps

Quarterback Derek Carr views Robinson as a player that can stretch the field for the Raiders this season, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.

The Raiders have no shortage of precise route runners at wide receiver, as both Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow are known for that skill. Offseason addition Keelan Cole is another reliable route runner, while Robinson brings a different skill set, which has intrigued Carr. "Robinson has flashed that talent, that speed that we have seen happen against us for a few years," Carr said. "He's flashed those same things here, that ability to be someone that can stretch the field and also run the intermediate to short stuff and make something happen afterwards."

  • Keelan Cole WR | LV

Raiders' Keelan Cole: Praised by QB

Cole's balance and route running have impressed Raiders quarterback Derek Carr early in training camp, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.

"His ability on the sideline, he's really good," Carr said of Cole. "There is never a doubt if he's in or he's out." Carr also praised Cole's route running, describing Cole's routes as "really crisp." Cole has racked up at least 449 yards in four of his five NFL seasons, and he's making a strong early push for the No. 3 wide receiver role in Vegas behind fellow newcomer Davante Adams and holdover Hunter Renfrow.

  • Shemar Bridges WR | BAL

Ravens' Shemar Bridges: Impressing early in camp

Bridges turned in an impressive first week of training camp and is in contention for a roster spot, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

The undrafted free agent out of Fort Valley State thus far is making the most of his opportunity as the Ravens begin to sort out the bottom of their wide receiver depth chart. Bridges has plenty of competition to be the fifth receiver on the roster as Baltimore has a host of other undrafted rookies fighting for one of the final roster spots. It's early, and padded practices are only starting to get underway as of Monday, so Bridges still is far from a lock to make the team. That said, he is off to a good start and will be a name to watch as camp progresses.
