Gabe Davis WR | BUF
Bills' Gabriel Davis: Player on the rise
Davis continues to stand out during training camp, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports. Said offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey on Tuesday: "Great mentally, as smart as any receiver I've been around, and works his tail off. So I think that's why you see that trajectory with him continue to get better and better and better each year because he's never complacent."
Davis served as the No. 4 wide receiver for most of last season, but with Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley not in the mix for 2022, he's now a clear-cut No. 2 alongside star receiver Stefon Diggs. If Davis sees a lot of single coverage, he's going to be able to put up strong numbers all season. He also has a nose for the end zone with 13 TD catches over his first two regular seasons, and that's not including the four-TD game he posted in the gut-wrenching loss to the Chiefs in last season's playoffs. Davis has jumped way up in draft rankings all summer, and rightfully so, but we'll at least spread one word of caution to go with all the good news -- the Bills have plenty of other weapons (Dawson Knox, Devin Singletary, rookie James Cook, Josh Allen's running ability, etc.) and have the potential to be playing from ahead in a number of games. You'll want to target Davis if your league isn't quite up to speed on his third-year potential, but don't feel bad about letting him go if someone slots him way too high.

Michael Gallup WR | WAS
Cowboys' Michael Gallup: Week 1 return unlikely
Gallup (knee) acknowledged Thursday that at this time he doesn't view being ready to play Week 1 as a realistic possibility, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
With that in mind, the wideout -- who is on the active/PUP list as he bounces back from ACL surgery -- doesn't have a precise timetable for his return to game action. "We got a little ways to go," Gallup noted Thursday. As long as he's unavailable, look for Jalen Tolbert and James Washington to see added reps behind Dallas' top healthy wideout CeeDee Lamb.
-
Brandon Smith WR | PIT
Cowboys' Brandon Smith: Active in practice
Smith participated in Dallas' practice sessions Thursday, The Dallas Morning News reports.
Smith underwent ankle surgery in January, but he appears to be healthy once again during training camp. The second-year wideout signed a reserve/future deal with Dallas shortly after spending the entirety of the 2021 season on the team's practice squad.
-
Jacob Harris WR | TB
Rams' Jacob Harris: Reverting back to wide receiver
Harris (knee) is practicing with the Rams' other wide receivers and the team currently has him listed at that position instead of tight end, per Jourdan Rodrigue of The Atlantic.
Harris was a wide receiver in college at UCF, where he put up a 30-539-8 line in his senior season. However, he was used as a tight end in limited action during a dismal rookie campaign with the Rams, where he went without a single target before missing the latter half of the season with a torn ACL and MCL. Converting back to his original position may get Harris back in his comfort zone, but his return further crowds an already stacked wideout room that may leave him struggling for snaps once again.
-
Noah Brown WR | LV
Cowboys' Noah Brown: Back on practice field
Brown worked with Dallas' second-team offense Thursday after being sidelined with a hamstring injury during minicamp in June, Mickey Spagnola of the team's official site reports.
Brown is officially active in practice once again after signing a one-year, $895,000 deal to return to the Cowboys in March. The fifth-year wideout brought in a career-high 16 of 25 targets for 184 yards over 13 games last year, but he should push for an increased role in Dallas' passing game after the departure of wideouts Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson this offseason. Brown likely will compete with rookie Jalen Tolbert and former Steeler James Washington for the Cowboy's No. 3 wide receiver spot during training camp.
-
Devon Williams WR | BAL
Ravens' Devon Williams: Comes off NFI list
Williams was seen practicing for the Ravens on Thursday, signifying that he passed a physical examination, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Williams missed the start of Baltimore's rookie training camp last week and landed on the team's reserve/did not report list as a result. The undrafted receiver out of Oregon likely will have to prove his value on special teams during the preseason if he wants to eventually carve out a depth role on the Ravens' final roster.
-
Christian Watson WR | GB
Packers' Christian Watson: Recovering from knee surgery
Watson clarified Thursday that he's "day-to-day" following offseason knee surgery that forced him to begin training camp on the active/PUP list, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
Watson added his knee experienced discomfort while running and cutting late in OTAs, and he eventually underwent a procedure to address it. The rookie second-round pick doesn't have a timeline to return to the field, but considering his comments Thursday, he at least has a chance to play in the preseason, even if his activity at the start of training camp is delayed. Once he's available, Watson will be in the mix for targets from Aaron Rodgers along with Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins (undisclosed) and Randall Cobb, among others.

Corey Davis WR | NYJ
Jets' Corey Davis: Expects to bounce back
Davis expects the Jets' passing game and his own production to take a big step forward in 2022, Jack Bell of the team's official site reports.
Davis had a team-high 349 receiving yards through six games in 2021, but injuries derailed his season from there. The veteran wide receiver had surgery to repair groin and core muscle injuries, and Davis has subsequently dropped a few pounds in an effort to improve his speed and health. Per Connor Hughes of The Athletic, Davis weighed in at 205 pounds for Jets training camp, down from his listed playing wight of 209 pounds. Davis also said that he's willing to shift into the slot when called upon, adding further flexibility to a Jets receiving corps that has used premium draft picks on Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson -- both of whom can play either inside or outside -- in the last two NFL drafts.

DeVante Parker WR | PHI
Patriots' DeVante Parker: Displays red-zone skills at practice
In Wednesday's training camp practice, Parker made a mark by scoring touchdowns on back-to-back plays during the Patriots' red-zone drills, Henry McKenna of USA Today reports.
While we won't read too much into a couple of good plays during the early stages of training camp, it's encouraging that the 29-year-old wideout -- who arrived via a trade with Miami in April -- is healthy and off to a good start at practice this summer. At 6-foot-3, 218 pounds, Parker is a big-bodied receiver who could emerge as a useful red-zone target for second-year QB Mac Jones. While Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor all remain in the mix for targets and the Patriots added speedy wideout Tyquan Thornton in the second round of the 2022 Draft, Parker has a chance to earn steady snaps in his new locale and thus is a candidate to see increased fantasy production after logging a 40-515-2 stat line on 73 targets in 10 games with the Dolphins last season.
-
Jalen Tolbert WR | MIA
Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Flashing early chemistry with Dak
Tolbert showed a good rapport with quarterback Dak Prescott on the first day of training camp, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
In particular, the duo connected on a sideline pass in traffic during a two-minute drill. Tolbert has a golden opportunity ahead of him for a significant role in the Cowboys' passing game with Amari Cooper in Cleveland and Michael Gallup (knee) not guaranteed to be ready for Week 1, but the third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft will need to prove in camp he's ready for it.
