  • James Proche WR | TEN

    Ravens' James Proche: Resumes practicing

Proche (back) is participating in Wednesday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Proche departed Monday's session early due to back cramps, and he skipped Tuesday's practice entirely, but he now appears healthy. He stands to resume handling increased opportunities in Baltimore's wide receiving corps, which is still operating without Marquise Brown (hamstring), Sammy Watkins (undisclosed), Rashod Bateman (groin) and Miles Boykin (hamstring).

  • Curtis Samuel WR | BUF

Football Team's Curtis Samuel: Could practice next week

Head coach Ron Rivera noted Wednesday that he's "pretty optimistic" Samuel (groin) will practice "sometime next week," Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

That comment effectively rules Samuel out of Saturday's preseason finale against the Ravens, but assuming the wideout in fact is able to practice next week and avoid any setbacks in the process, he'd be trending in the right direction in advance of Washington's Sept. 12 season opener against the Chargers.

  • Adam Thielen WR | PIT

Vikings' Adam Thielen: Won't play Friday

Thielen (thigh) won't play in Friday's preseason finale against Kansas City, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

The wideout suffered a thigh bruise early in this past Saturday's preseason game against the Colts, and the Vikings will play it safe with Thielen with an eye toward getting him ready for Week 1. Heading into the 2021 season, Thielen and Justin Jefferson remain firmly on top of Minnesota's wide receiver depth chart.

  • Elijah Moore WR | PHI

Jets' Elijah Moore: Likely to sit Friday

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that he doubts Moore will suit up for Friday's preseason finale against the Eagles, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

Moore said Tuesday that he expects to play, but his coach contradicted that notion one day later. Considering the decision is ultimately in Saleh's hands, chances are Moore's NFL debut will have to wait until Week 1 against the Panthers. Moore has looked spry in practice this week since returning from a quadriceps injury, but the Jets understandably want to play it safe with the rookie receiver, considering the team has been ravaged by injuries throughout camp.

  • Marvin Jones WR | DET

Jaguars' Marvin Jones: Diagnosed with AC joint sprain

Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer said Wednesday that Jones is dealing with an AC joint sprain in his shoulder, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.

The wideout's status now will need to be monitored as Jacksonville's Sept. 12 season opener in Houston approaches. Once Jones takes the field in the regular season, he'll be catching passes from No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence, who was confirmed as the Jaguars' starting quarterback Wednesday.

  • Steven Sims WR | ARI

Bills' Steven Sims: Inks deal with Buffalo

Sims signed with the Bills on Wednesday.

Sims entered Week 1 of last season as Washington's No. 2 receiver, but he injured his toe in September and was limited to a depth role once he returned. The team then released him Monday, having vastly improved its wideout depth in the offseason. Sims now heads to Buffalo, where Isaiah McKenzie's shoulder injury has the Bills looking for a backup plan to handle return work and gadget plays. Sims is an obvious fit, albeit with some ball-security concerns when it comes to punt returns.

  • Penny Hart WR | ATL

Seahawks' Penny Hart: Back at practice

Hart (ankle) returned to practice Tuesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Hart has been dealing with the ankle sprain for more than two weeks, but he's now healthy and back on the practice field. The 25-year-old will have Saturday's preseason finale against the Chargers to stake his claim for a spot on the season-opening roster.

  • Jalen Guyton WR | LV

Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Dealing with leg injury

Guyton suffered an upper leg injury during Tuesday's practice, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

The specifics of the issue remain unclear, though Guyton was seen getting his upper leg wrapped at Tuesday's practice. The 24-year-old caught 28 passes for 511 yards and three touchdowns last season and is competing for the No. 3 job at wide receiver with Tyron Johnson and Josh Palmer.

  • Bills' Isaiah McKenzie: Injured during Tuesday's practice

McKenzie suffered a shoulder injury during Tuesday's practice and will have an MRI to determine the severity, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.

McKenzie had been sitting pretty to secure the No. 5 receiver spot, so the injury could complicate things for the Bills. If it is something that sidelines the veteran, the team would also need to move down the list to find a return man as well, as McKenzie had been deemed the team's top guy to return kicks.

  • Mike Williams WR | LAC

Chargers' Mike Williams: Not at practice

Williams (hip) isn't practicing Tuesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Williams didn't practice last week and isn't ready to return after missing the Chargers' first two preseason games. He's unlikely to play in the third, but still has some time before the regular-season opener Sept. 12 at Washington. Coach Brandon Staley said Williams' injury is a hip flexor.
