Jamison Crowder WR | WAS
Jets' Jamison Crowder: Mans usual spot in slot
Crowder caught his only target for four yards in Saturday's 12-7 preseason win over the Giants.
Crowder made the catch on the Jets' second drive, then had an eight-yard grab on the next play negated by a pass interference penalty on teammate Keelan Cole. The veteran slot receiver worked with the starters here, though Crowder likely will yield some snaps to rookie Elijah Moore (quadriceps) once the latter heals up. Crowder and the rest of the starters should see more action Week 2 of preseason against the Packers.

Keelan Cole WR | LV
Jets' Keelan Cole: In mix for starting spot
Cole caught his only target for a 16-yard gain in Saturday's 12-7 preseason win over the Giants.
Cole's catch came on a pass thrown by starting quarterback Zach Wilson. The Jets' receiver deployment throughout Wilson's two drives in the game suggest Cole's currently rotating with Vyncint Smith as a starter on the outside opposite Corey Davis, though rookie Elijah Moore (quadriceps) may be ahead of both Cole and Smith in the competition for that spot. The Jets' wide receiver rotation will be worth monitoring when they face the Packers in Week 2 of preseason.
-
Ben Skowronek WR | PIT
Rams' Ben Skowronek: Out with fractured forearm
Skowronek suffered a fractured forearm during Saturday's preseason loss to the Chargers and will undergo surgery Monday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
The rookie seventh-round pick doesn't yet have timeline for his return, but it's safe to consider him unavailable for the foreseeable future. Skowronek was competing for a depth role in the Rams' receiving corps.
-
Terrace Marshall Jr. WR | MIA
Panthers' Terrace Marshall: Strong preseason debut
Marshall had three receptions (five targets) for 88 yards in Sunday's 21-18 preseason loss to the Colts.
P.J. Walker connected with Marshall for a huge 60-yard gain in the first half, just falling short of a would-be touchdown. It was an impressive splash for the 2021 second-round pick in his first action as a pro. Marshall is already considered the front runner to begin the regular season as the Panthers' No. 3 wideout behind veterans Robby Anderson and DJ Moore.
-
DeAndre Hopkins WR | BAL
Cardinals' DeAndre Hopkins: Still no practice reps
Hopkins (undisclosed) wasn't spotted at practice Sunday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Fellow wide receiver A.J. Green is a bit further ahead in his own recovery from an unspecified injury, returning Sunday with individual drills on a side field. Hopkins doesn't necessarily require many practice reps to be in top form, and so far in training camp he's followed a similar regimen to his first campaign with the Cards last season, getting one vet day off and otherwise missing a few other practices. It remains to be seen if the team will have all of Hopkins, Green and Kyler Murray available for either of its last two exhibitions, but the trio all sat out Friday's preseason opener against the Cowboys.
-
Tarik Black WR | DET
Colts' Tarik Black: Posts 67 yards in return
Black (undisclosed) had three receptions (four targets) for 67 yards in Sunday's 21-18 preseason win over the Panthers.
The undrafted rookie was dealing with an undisclosed injury, but his strong performance (he led the team in receiving yards) puts him back on track to compete for a roster spot this preseason. Black will find it hard to crack the receiver rotation in its current configuration even if he were to make the 53-man roster.
-
Mecole Hardman WR | BUF
Chiefs' Mecole Hardman: Drops lone target
Hardman was targeted once during Saturday's 19-16 preseason win over the 49ers but dropped the pass.
Hardman took the field with Patrick Mahomes and the starters on the opening drive. The third-year wideout was targeted on a short third down but dropped the pass. Hardman and Mahomes didn't return to the field the rest of the night. The drop is concerning because Hardman recorded eight of them last season, and he'll need to clean up that part of his game if he wants to retain the No. 2 wideout job left behind by Sammy Watkins. The Chiefs' next preseason game is Friday against the Cardinals.
-
Stefon Diggs WR | WAS
Bills' Stefon Diggs: Still sidelined Sunday
Diggs (knee) will be held out of Sunday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Diggs has been sidelined for nearly a week due to a knee issue, but coach Sean McDermott is of the belief it won't impact his availability for the regular season. Considering the cautious approach the Bills are taking with Diggs, he may not be a candidate to see any preseason action this month, with an eye toward having him out there Week 1. He displayed an instant rapport with Josh Allen in his first season with the team in 2020, compiling 127 catches (on 166 targets) for 1,535 yards and eight touchdowns.
-
Bryan Edwards WR | NO
Raiders' Bryan Edwards: Getting red-zone looks in practice
Edwards has been a primary red-zone target of Derek Carr during training camp, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
The Raiders didn't trot out any of their top skill-position talent in the team's preseason opener Saturday against the Seahawks, meaning the Carr-Edwards connection potentially won't be seen in an actual game until Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Rams. Edwards didn't see much action as a third-round rookie last season en route to 11 catches (on 15 targets) for 193 yards and one touchdown in 12 appearances. With Nelson Agholor out of the picture, Las Vegas is poised to roll with Edwards, Henry Ruggs and Hunter Renfrow as its top three wide receivers. Even if targets are somewhat inconsistent in an offense that also boasts Darren Waller and capable pass-catching backs in Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake, any extra utility Edwards can provide near the goal line helps his cause on the fantasy front.
-
Brandin Cooks WR | SF
Texans' Brandin Cooks: Sits out opener
Cooks did not play in Saturday's 26-7 win over Green Bay in preseason Week 1.
Cooks was one of several skill players to get the night off for the preseason opener. He's expected to be the team's top receiver when deployed, but Texans coach David Culley appears to favor an offense that will rely heavily on the ground attack.
