  • Jalen Guyton WR | LV

Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Returns to practice

Guyton (undisclosed) practiced Friday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Guyton has been out since Tuesday, but the team declined to list an exact injury so it always seemed like the speedy wideout would return to practice relatively soon. The 24-year-old is in a heated battle for the No. 3 role with Tyron Johnson and rookie Josh Palmer.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

Giants' Kadarius Toney: Goes through 11-on-11s

Toney participated in 11-on-11s at Friday's practice, NJ.com's Zack Rosenblatt reports.

He lined up with the second-string offense and wasn't targeted, but it nonetheless marks a small step forward as the Giants ease their first-round pick into training camp following a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Toney has a tricky path to snaps in an offense with three experienced NFL starters (Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton) at his position, but between durability concerns and the possibility of Shepard/Slayton struggling, the rookie could find his way into a starting role before long.

  • Rondale Moore WR | MIN

Cardinals' Rondale Moore: Not practicing Friday

Moore (undisclosed) is not on the field for Friday's practice, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Moore and A.J. Green (undisclosed) are both still absent from practice and dealing with "something minor," per coach Kliff Kingsbury. The rookie second-round pick departed Thursday's session due to an issue that Kingsbury initially described as "precautionary." As long as Moore and Green both remain sidelined, KeeSean Johnson and Andy Isabella should see first-team reps behind DeAndre Hopkins.

  • Tre'Quan Smith WR | DET

    Saints' Tre'Quan Smith: Remains sidelined

Smith (undisclosed) missed practice again Friday, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.

Larry Holder of The Athletic previously noted that coach Sean Payton doesn't think Smith's issue will be long term, but the wideout's absence has paved the way for Marquez Callaway to open some eyes at practice of late, per Mike Triplett of ESPN.com. Once he's back at practice, Smith will look to cement a key role in the Saints' passing attack, which seems likely to be without top wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) early on this season.

  • Steelers' James Washington: Asks for trade

Washington has requested a trade, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The 2018 second-rounder saw his playing time dip last season and with JuJu Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool also in the Steelers' wideout mix, a change of scenery could boost Washington's stock in 2021. It remains to be seen if the Steelers are inclined to move the 25-year-old, however.

  • Saints' Marquez Callaway: Pushes for increased role

Callaway has impressed through training camp thus far, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.

Callaway, who's already in the Saints' return mix, could see his role in the offense expand early on this season, with top wideout Michael Thomas (ankle) expected to miss time. In the short term, Callaway and Deonte Harris figure to have added opportunities, with Tre'Quan Smith currently dealing with an unspecified injury. The 6-foot-2, 204-pound Callaway caught 21 passes for 213 yards in 11 regular-season games as a rookie in 2020, and based on his strong training camp effort to date, he now looks like a player to watch as the summer progresses,.

  • Bills' Isaiah McKenzie: In line for lead return role

Bills special teams coordinator Heath Farwell said Thursday that McKenzie is in the "No. 1 spot" to replace Andre Roberts, who went to the Texans in free agency, as the team's primary returner, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.

Brandon Powell and rookie Marquez Stevenson are also in the mix, but McKenzie has the most experience and he filled in behind Roberts last season, even taking a punt return to the house in Week 17. Based on his position in the return game, McKenzie seems like a near lock to make the roster as the fifth receiver. While he won't pass any of the four wideouts above him on the depth chart, offensive coordinator Brian Daboll loves including McKenzie in the game plan as a jet sweeper. If your league uses returners, McKenzie's 30-282-5 line in the receiving game is worth noting.

  • Josh Reynolds WR | NYJ

Titans' Josh Reynolds: Returns to practice

Reynolds (undisclosed) is practicing Friday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Reynolds missed several days of practice due to an undisclosed injury, but it looks like he's already returned to full health. With Julio Jones (undisclosed) still not present at any on-field activities, Reynolds should be in line to handle increased reps behind A.J. Brown.

  • DJ Chark WR | ATL

Jaguars' DJ Chark: Battling minor injury

Chark is sitting out Friday's practice with an undisclosed minor injury, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports.

It's unclear when the injury cropped, up, but Chark won't be taking part in Friday's session. Fellow wideout Marvin Jones (personal) is also absent, so Laviska Shenault and Collin Johnson should work as the team's top receivers to finish the week. Chark should be considered day-to-day until the team updates his status.

  • Chris Conley WR | SF

Texans' Chris Conley: Gets reps with Taylor

Conley and rookie Nico Collins have been given ample reps with presumed starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor, Aaron Reiss of The Athletic reports.

Collins has been the breakout star in camp early on, but the veteran Conley should be seen as a bona fide candidate to start at wideout opposite Brandin Cooks. The Texans traded up to get Collins in this year's draft, and he may eventually become a top-three target for Taylor, but Conley may be the one who starts Week 1 against Jacksonville.
