  • DeVonta Smith WR | PHI

Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Nursing leg injury

Smith exited Saturday's practice with a leg injury, Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

The rookie first-round pick remained on the sideline and watched the rest of practice after suffering the injury, so it appears to be a minor issue. The Eagles have Sunday off before returning to practice Monday, so Smith will have a day to recover before potentially missing additional practice time.

  • Javon Wims WR | CAR

Bears' Javon Wims: Injured in practice Saturday

Wims left Saturday's practice early due to an undisclosed injury, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com reports.

The nature and severity of Wims' injury remain unknown at this point, but Wims will want to heal up quickly since he's likely to be near the roster bubble. Further updates on the wide receiver's status should surface before Chicago's Aug. 14 preseason opener.

  • Michael Gallup WR | WAS

Cowboys' Michael Gallup: Returns to practice

Gallup (ankle) is returning to practice Saturday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Gallup needed a few days off after hurting his ankle in practice Tuesday, but he has regained health and is practicing again. With Amari Cooper still sidelined by an ankle injury of his own, Gallup should work as the No. 2 receiver behind CeeDee Lamb in practice for the time being.

  • N'Keal Harry TE | SEA

Patriots' N'Keal Harry: Participating in training camp

Harry, who requested a trade earlier this month, is in attendance for New England's training camp, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.

While it's still possible that the 2019 first-rounder could be moved, the 23-year-old indicated Friday that he'd "absolutely" be happy if he ended up staying with the team, noting that he's been focusing on improving his agility as opposed to "playing big." At this stage, the 6-foot-4, 225-pounder presumably slots in behind Nelson Agholor, Jakobi Meyers and Kendrick Bourne on the Patriots' wideout depth chart, but a strong summer and/or injuries could lead to a context that would allow Harry to stick around and potentially carve out a key role in the team's offense.

  • DeVante Parker WR | PHI

Dolphins' DeVante Parker: Dealing with soft tissue injury

Parker (undisclosed) is recovering from a soft tissue injury that will need some rest so as to not become chronic, Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald reports.

The injury reportedly isn't considered serious, but the timing was suboptimal with Parker hurting himself during a workout right before training camp. It'll be especially worrisome if this is a hamstring injury, as he's struggled with those through much of his career, including last season. The Dolphins placed Parker on the PUP list Wednesday, and neither player nor team has provided any information on the injury or a possible timeline. The Dolphins also have Will Fuller (undisclosed) and Preston Williams (foot) missing from practice, while rookie first-rounder Jaylen Waddle has managed to stay on the field.

  • Tyreek Hill WR | MIA

Chiefs' Tyreek Hill: Leading inexperienced WR group

The Chiefs have open competition for roles behind Hill at wide receiver, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.

It's possible Sammy Watkins' departure leads to Hill and Travis Kelce handling even larger target shares, but the Chiefs likely prefer that another receiver -- namely Mecole Hardman -- steps up to the challenge. In any case, Watkins was far from a target hog in his three years with Kansas City, averaging 5.9 in 34 regular-season games (he missed 14). The biggest thing for Hill is simply that he and QB Patrick Mahomes stay healthy, as the 27-year-old speedster has been a top-five receiver (both real life and fantasy) whenever that's happened.

  • Tim Patrick WR | NYJ

Broncos' Tim Patrick: Rested with sore leg

Patrick was held out of Friday's practice to rest a sore leg, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.

It's unclear if this is related to the hamstring injury that caused Patrick to miss a few days of OTAs in early June. At the time, coach Vic Fangio said the hamstring injury was "very, very minor," and there was no report of Patrick being limited earlier this week at the start of training camp. He's likely competing with KJ Hamler for the No. 3 receiver role, but both figure to get some snaps and targets even if Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy also stay healthy.

  • Quez Watkins WR | IND

Eagles' Quez Watkins: Dealing with non-COVID illness

Watkins is day-to-day due to an illness, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.

Watkins is dealing with a non-COVID illness. He'll likely make his return well before the Eagles' Aug. 12 preseason opener versus Pittsburgh.

  • Davante Adams WR | LAR

Packers' Davante Adams: Seeking to be highest-paid wideout

Adams is seeking to become the league's highest-paid wideout, but he and the Packers have differing definitions on the meaning of that term, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.

Adams is set to become a free agent after this season, and he expressed publicly Wednesday that he is looking for an average annual salary that makes him the top-paid pass catcher in the league. That title is currently held by Arizona's DeAndre Hopkins, who, after joining the Cardinals, agreed to a two-year extension that averages $27.25 million per season. Adams is presumably looking to top that number, but the Packers believe the average salary of Hopkins' entire contract -- which comes out a few million dollars cheaper -- is a more appropriate number. Adams averaged 91.6 receptions, 1,127.8 yards and 11.6 touchdowns over the last five seasons, so he has the stats on his side. However, the Packers do have a bit of leverage, as they will have the franchise tag available.

  • Chris Godwin WR | TB

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Back at practice Friday

Godwin (undisclosed) is present and participating at Friday's practice, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Godwin was sitting out practice earlier this week for undisclosed reasons, but he's back on the field for Friday's session, though his participation level remains unclear. There's no real injury concerns for the 25-year-old at this point as the Buccaneers prepare for the preseason opener Aug. 14 versus the Bengals.
