  • Randall Cobb WR | NYJ

Packers' Randall Cobb: Headed to Pack for sixth-rounder

The Texans agreed Wednesday to trade Cobb to the Packers for a 2022 sixth-round draft pick, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

The report notes that Houston is expected to pay $3 million of Cobb's salary in order to facilitate the trade, which should become official within a few days. Cobb, who turns 31 next month, is coming off a 2020 season in which he caught 38 passes on 48 targets for 441 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games with the Texans. While those numbers aren't eye-popping, Cobb now looks like a bounce-back candidate in 2021, considering that he'll once again be catching passes from quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Cobb spent the first eight seasons of his career in Green Bay with Rodgers before one-year stops in Dallas and Houston.

  • 49ers' Brandon Aiyuk: Returns healthy for camp

Aiyuk (groin) made a number of catches Wednesday during the first practice of training camp, Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee reports.

He's apparently recovered from the minor groin injury that held him out of OTAs, with Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle also noting that Aiyuk had a great practice Wednesday. The second-year pro is locked in as a starter and foundational piece in San Francisco, competing for targets with wideout Deebo Samuel and tight end George Kittle in an offense that should have a tight distribution. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has made multiple comments in support of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, but it's nonetheless possible Aiyuk ends up catching passes from rookie first-round pick Trey Lance at some point in 2021.

  • DeVonta Smith WR | PHI

Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Working with starters

Smith and Travis Fulgham lined up with the first-team offense at Wednesday's practice, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.

Smith's presence comes as no surprise, while Fulgham may have just been filling in for Jalen Reagor, who was bothered by tightness in his lower body. Given that he's a No. 10 overall pick with weak competition at his position, Smith is one of the few rookies around the league who essentially will be handed a starting job. He could also handle a sizable target share right out of the gate, albeit in an offense that will likely prioritize the ground game behind dual-threat quarterback Jalen Hurts and a deep stable of running backs.

  • Browns' Odell Beckham: Feeling good on first day of camp

Beckham (knee) looked healthy during Wednesday's practice and said afterward that he's feeling great, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Beckham may not be on the field when contact work begins, but there's no question he's ahead of the typical rehab schedule for an ACL tear, having previously participated in June minicamp just seven months after his Nov. 10 surgery. Even if he doesn't play this preseason, Beckham is on track to suit up Week 1 against the Chiefs.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Participates in 7-on-7 drills

Sutton (knee) participated in team drills Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

The activity is a tangible step forward after he was limited to individual drills during the offseason program. Sutton already revealed that he's scheduled to play in one of Denver's three preseason games, though he mentioned Wednesday that he'll have a brace over his surgically repaired knee when the Broncos start contact work at training camp, per Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com. Wednesday's practice was the first of camp, with players going through 7-on-7 scrimmaging in shorts and helmets. Sutton could be limited or absent when contact work begins, given that he's coming back from an ACL and MCL tear of his left knee.

  • Seahawks' D'Wayne Eskridge: Placed on PUP

The Seahawks placed Eskridge (toe) on the PUP list Wednesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

With the toe injury also limiting him in June minicamp, Eskridge isn't off to a great start in his quest to win the No. 3 receiver role. Granted, he still has a month and a half to prepare for Week 1, and competition isn't exactly fierce with Freddie Swain being the likely top alternative.

  • Jauan Jennings WR | MIN

49ers' Jauan Jennings: On COVID list

The 49ers placed Jennings (undisclosed) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Jennings appears to have recovered from the serious hamstring issue he sustained last October, but he'll now need to clear the league's COVID-19 protocols before practicing in training camp. He's likely competing for a spot on San Francisco's practice squad.

  • Jamal Agnew WR | ATL

Jaguars' Jamal Agnew: Not ready to practice

The Jaguars placed Agnew (undisclosed) on the non-football injury list Wednesday, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports.

Agnew joined Jacksonville via a three-year pact back in March, likely positioning him to operate as the team's top return man when healthy. The nature of his current injury remains unknown.

  • Michael Gallup WR | WAS

    Cowboys' Michael Gallup: Tweaks ankle

Gallup (ankle) won't practice Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The report notes that the wideout tweaked his ankle during Tuesday's practice, but at this stage, the issue doesn't seem likely to keep Gallup out for too long. When all three players are healthy, Amari Cooper (ankle), CeeDee Lamb and Gallup combine for a formidable wide receiver trio atop the Cowboys' depth chart.

  • Curtis Samuel WR | BUF

Football Team's Curtis Samuel: Held out from first practice

Head coach Ron Rivera said his concern is "very low" with Samuel, who was held out of practice Wednesday with a groin injury, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

Samuel suffered the injury eight weeks ago and still hasn't returned to practice, but Rivera suggested the wide receiver will be eased into action at training camp soon enough. After signing a three-year, $34.5 million deal this offseason that includes $23 million guaranteed, Samuel is locked in as Washington's No. 2 wide receiver.
