The Chargers announced Monday that Herbert underwent surgery on his left hand, and the quarterback is considered day-to-day ahead of next Monday's game against the Eagles.

After Herbert injured his left, non-throwing hand during Sunday's win against the Raiders, he wore a glove with a significant amount of padding, but he still completed 15 of 20 passes for 151 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while recording three carries for eight yards. Coach Jim Harbaugh revealed afterward that Herbert sustained a broken bone in that hand, and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported its exact nature as a metacarpal fracture on Monday morning. Rapoport also noted that the Chargers intend to have Herbert available for Week 14 action, but how he fares on the practice field Thursday through Saturday ultimately will determine whether it's him or backup Trey Lance under center next Monday.

Zylstra (knee) was a limited participant at practice Monday.

Zylstra had his 21-day practice window opened Monday after spending the last two months on injured reserve with what previously was labeled an ankle injury, but the Lions' first Week 14 practice report has him tagged with a knee injury. Irrespective of the issue, the tight end is likely a long shot to play in Thursday night's matchup with the Cowboys, but with Brock Wright (neck) potentially set to miss extended time, Zylstra will provide the team with some much-needed depth once activated from IR.

The Packers waived Sheppard on Monday.

Sheppard was signed to the active roster ahead of Green Bay's Thanksgiving matchup against the Lions. While he was active for the contest, he did not log a snap. Sheppard is a candidate to rejoin the Packers' practice squad.

Vaki (thumb) was a limited participant at practice Monday.

Vaki was able to play through an ankle injury in the team's 34-27 loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving, but he may have picked up a thumb injury in the contest. The running back's ability to practice in any capacity is a good sign, and he'll have two more chances to log a full practice and leave the injury behind before Thursday's matchup with the Cowboys.

Branch (toe) was a limited participant at practice Monday.

Branch was once again present on the injury report Monday as he continues to battle a toe injury that's lingered for several weeks. The safety was able to register 10 total tackles (seven solo) and two passes defensed while playing 95 percent of Detroit's defensive snaps in the team's 34-27 loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving, so he's likely on track to play again Thursday against Dallas. Branch will have two more chances to log a full practice before taking on the Cowboys.

Van Ness (foot) was spotted in a walking boot Monday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

Van Ness has been hampered by a foot injury for much of the season and attempted a return in Week 12 against the Vikings. However, he managed only six defensive snaps in that game and was inactive for Week 13. In comments to the media, Van Ness said that he's focused on rehab, so it sounds as if he could be in for at least one more absence in Week 14 against the Bears.

Dimukeje (knee) is inactive for Monday's game against the Patriots, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Dimukeje popped up on the injury report Saturday with a knee injury but still managed a limited practice. Nevertheless, he will be inactive for the second time in seven weeks since being activated from injured reserve.

Bradbury (illness) is active for Monday night's game against the Giants.

Bradbury was uncertain to play after he was a late addition to the injury report Monday due to an illness, but he now appears to be good to go. He'll operate in his typical starting role at center versus New York.

Tonga (chest) is inactive for Monday night's contest against the Giants.

Tonga went the wrong direction at practice during the week, going from a limited participant Wednesday to a non-participant by the end of the week while nursing a chest injury he suffered in Week 12. The defensive lineman will now be forced to miss his first game of the year. In his absence, Eric Gregory is a top candidate to handle the lion's share of workload at nose tackle versus New York.

The Lions placed Arnold on injured reserve Monday, and the cornerback is scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder later this week, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Arnold was previously sidelined for Weeks 11 and 12 due to a concussion, but he made his return to action in the Lions' 34-27 loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving Day. He recorded four solo tackles in the contest, but at some point along the way, he suffered an aggravation of the same shoulder injury that kept him out for Weeks 6 and 7. The Lions will send the 22-year-old in for surgery with the hope that it provides a more permanent fix for the recurring shoulder problem. He'll close out the 2025 campaign with 31 tackles, eight pass breakups and one interception over eight games.
