Allen is listed as a backup receiver on Kansas City's unofficial depth chart ahead of Monday's season opener versus the Broncos, Charles Goldsmith of AtoZSports.com reports.

A rookie fifth-round pick out of Cincinnati, Allen generated plenty of positive buzz in training camp and the preseason, but he doesn't appear to have a path to meaningful playing time heading into Week 1. Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy are locked in as the clear top two options on the depth chart, but Allen could eventually push Tyquan Thornton for the No. 3 spot. Thornton possesses more speed of the two and found some success as a vertical threat in Andy Reid's scheme last season, but Allen offers a more diverse route tree and could be a higher-volume target earner if Rice or Worthy were to miss time.

Stevenson is expected to see the bulk of the snaps and touches out of the backfield Wednesday against the Seahawks after TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) was ruled out, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

The duo is expected to share the load when both are fully healthy, but Henderson's absence for Week 1 should clear the way for Stevenson to handle a workhorse role. Corey Kiner is the only other healthy back on the depth chart, so at least one of Lan Larison and Hassan Haskins will be promoted from the practice squad, but none of them are expected to poach much work from Stevenson. With a hefty touch volume awaiting him Wednesday, Stevenson should make for a strong fantasy option, even in a tough matchup against the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Mayfield and the Buccaneers agreed Tuesday on a three-year, $165 million contract extension, Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport of ESPN report.

Though Mayfield's self-imposed deadline of the start of training camp for signing a new contract came and went without a new deal in place, the two sides revisited extension talks in the last few days and were able to find common ground. With the extension in place, the Buccaneers will avoid the risk of losing Mayfield in free agency next offseason and keep him on their books through 2029. Mayfield's first three seasons in Tampa Bay have been a resounding success, with the quarterback averaging 31.6 touchdown passes per season and having led the team to two playoff appearances.

The Patriots ruled out Henderson for Wednesday's season opener versus the Seahawks, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.

Henderson's absence for the opener hardly comes as a surprise, as an ankle injury has kept him from practicing in any capacity since Aug. 24. With the second-year RB sidelined, Rhamondre Stevenson will handle the bulk of snaps and touches out of the backfield. Corey Kiner is the only other healthy back on the depth chart, but the Patriots will likely elevate one or both of Lan Larison and Hassan Haskins from the practice squad.

The Seahawks list Horton (hamstring) as questionable for Wednesday's season opener versus the Patriots, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Horton missed the final nine games of the 2025 regular season as well as the Seahawks' playoff run due to a shin fracture and a groin issue, requiring offseason surgery to address the injuries. Though he was deemed ready to go for the start of training camp, the second-year wideout ended up succumbing to a hamstring injury in mid-August. While that isn't viewed as a long-term concern, Horton had his practice participation limited this week and he may not get clearance to suit up Wednesday. Even if he avoids the inactive list, he'd be in line for a small role as the No. 4 wide receiver behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed and Cooper Kupp.

The Seahawks list Emmanwori (ankle) as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Patriots, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.

Emmanwori has been a limited participant in practice this week while he continues to work his way back from late July surgery on his right ankle. The Seahawks will re-evaluate Emmanwori early Wednesday before the team submits its inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to the 8:20 p.m. ET opening kickoff. If Emmanwori ends up missing Week 1, Seattle would be down both its starting safeties, as Ty Okada (hamstring) has already been ruled out.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said Tuesday that Garrett (knee) will be "ready to go" for Thursday's season opener versus the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, Benjamin Royer of The Orange County Register reports.

Garrett missed extensive time in training camp and didn't see any preseason action while contending with swelling in his left knee, but the injury was always viewed as a minor concern. The Rams could still look to limit his practice reps leading up to the season opener, but the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year should still handle something close to his full workload in his team debut. However, Garrett will have to wait at least one more week to team up with star defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who didn't make the trip to Melbourne while he works to regain full conditioning after ending a two-year retirement.

Head coach Sean McVay said that Donald won't travel to Melbourne, Australia and will be inactive Thursday for the Rams' season opener versus the 49ers, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.

After officially re-signing with the franchise on a one-year, $20 million deal Aug. 30, Donald will be given time to regain full conditioning as he makes his return from a two-year retirement. Due to the international scheduling, the Rams will benefit from an extended break before their Week 2 matchup with the Giants in a Monday night game Sept. 21. Donald has strong odds of being available for that contest in what would mark the star defensive tackle's first NFL action since Jan. 14, 2024.

Head coach Mike LaFleur expressed optimism Tuesday that rookie Jeremiyah Love would be ready to play Sunday after suffering a high-ankle sprain in the Cardinals' preseason opener, but the No. 3 overall pick in April's draft isn't expected to handle a workhorse role right away. Allgeier appears well-positioned to have a meaningful role in the Week 1 game plan, whether he ends up starting or not.

Head coach Mike LaFleur said Monday that he's optimistic Love will be available Sunday, but even if the rookie manages to practice without limitations by the end of the week, he seems likely to share the load with Allgeier until he's fully up to speed.
