The Steelers are expected to trade Johnson to the Packers, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.

Johnson thus will get a fresh start in Green Bay after the third-round investment made in him last year didn't pan out in Pittsburgh. Working behind Jaylen Warren and Kenny Gainwell in 2025, Johnson turned 28 carries into just 69 yards (2.5 YPC) and no touchdowns while hauling in one of two targets for nine yards in 10 regular-season appearances as a rookie. Johnson will join a Green Bay backfield led by Josh Jacobs (groin) and backed up by MarShawn Lloyd and Chris Brooks.

Maclin was waived by the Bills on Sunday, Alex Brasky of SI.com reports.

The wide receiver flashed big-play ability during the preseason with Buffalo, recording a 71-yard catch-and-run touchdown and a 37-yard over-the-shoulder grab in the same preseason game. It was just hard to crack a Buffalo receiver room filled with experienced pros like DJ Moore, Khalil Shakir (undisclosed), Keon Coleman (foot) and Joshua Palmer. Maclin will likely rejoin the team as part of its practice squad if he clears waivers, per Brasky.

The Buccaneers waived Williams on Sunday, Jenna Laine of ESPN reports.

Williams first joined Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent last season and spent time on both its active roster and practice squad during the 2025 campaign before signing a reserve/future contract with the team in January. The 25-year-old could be a candidate to land on the Buccaneers' practice squad once again should he clear waivers.

Pena was waived by the Jaguars on Sunday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.

The team wants Pena to join its practice squad if he clears waivers, per Schultz. The wide receiver caught 10 passes for 149 yards and a score during the preseason. Pena initially signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State in April.

The Panthers cut Trask on Sunday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.

Trask had just joined the team earlier this month to provide additional quarterback depth due to Haynes King being sidelined with a hamstring injury. If King is forced to miss time during the regular season, Carolina could bring Trask back to its practice squad to serve as the team's emergency third quarterback.

Gronowski was waived by the Dolphins on Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

The quarterback will return to Miami as part of the practice squad unless he's claimed by another team, per Garafolo. The move comes after the Dolphins traded a 2028 sixth-round pick to the Packers for Kyle McCord, who will likely serve as the backup to starter Malik Willis in the wake of the departures of Quinn Ewers, who was traded to Jacksonville, and Cam Miller, who was waived. Gronowski signed with Miami as an undrafted free agent in May, was waived by the team in early August and then landed back with the club nine days later.

Henderson was waived by the Seahawks on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

The rookie sixth-round pick out of Kansas has failed to make Seattle's initial 53-man roster. Henderson could garner interest as a back-end option for a team with less depth than the defending champs, as he had some nice moments on special teams during the preseason.

Connors was waived by the Rams on Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Connors scored three touchdowns in the preseason, but that production wasn't enough for the undrafted free agent out of Houston to make the team. Per Garafolo, the Rams would like to add Connors to their practice squad if he clears waivers, though it's possible another team will claim Connors.

The Colts waived Sharpe on Sunday, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Sharpe spent the summer competing for a roster spot after joining the team as an undrafted free agent in May but was ultimately unable to stand out. The 24-year-old will now look to catch on with another team.

The Dolphins waived McCulley on Sunday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

McCulley joined the team as an undrafted free agent in May but didn't stand out enough during the offseason to earn a roster spot. He will now look to find a new opportunity with another team.
