  • Jalen Walthall WR | NYJ

Jalen Walthall: Works out with Houston

The Texans hosted Walthall for a tryout Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The Jets waived Walthall from injured reserve with an injury settlement in early August. The wide receiver appears to have finally recovered from his undisclosed injury and is ready to return to NFL football. Walthall will be competing with Justin Shorter for a practice squad or active roster spot on the Texans' roster.

  • 49ers' Romello Height: Cleared to play versus Denver

Height (hand) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against Denver.

Height didn't play in Week 3 against Arizona and practiced in a limited capacity throughout the week. However, he is cleared to suit up for Sunday's game versus the Broncos. The 25-year-old has appeared in two games thus far during the 2026 campaign, amassing one total tackle (one solo) and 1.0 sack.

  • Justin Shorter: Tryout in Houston

The Texans hosted Shorter for a tryout Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The Raiders waived Shorter from injured reserve Tuesday. The wide receiver appears to have requested a release after recovering from an undisclosed injury so he could seek out another team to play for in 2026. The Texans are still missing wide receivers Tank Dell (knee) and Jayden Higgins (knee), meaning Shorter could reinforce the pass-catching depth for the team's practice squad.

  • Case Keenum QB | CHI

Bears' Case Keenum: Expected to back up Bagent vs. NYJ

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Keenum is expected to serve as the backup quarterback to Tyson Bagent against the Jets on Sunday.

Keenum was under center for Week 3 and led the Bears to a 27-7 win over the Eagles, when he threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing TD. However, Bagent has taken the majority of first-team reps during Week 4 prep, with Caleb Williams (hamstring) ruled out for a second consecutive week. Head coach Ben Johnson has yet to name a starter, but for now, it looks like Bagent will be the starter Sunday while Keenum stays ready as the QB2.

  • Dre Greenlaw LB | SF

49ers' Dre Greenlaw: Might not suit up Sunday

Greenlaw (quadriceps) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Denver.

Greenlaw missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. While he was out there in a limited capacity Friday, he will still carry a questionable tag ahead of the Week 4 meeting with the Broncos. If Greenlaw doesn't suit up Sunday, Garret Wallow should fill most of the void.

  • Lew Nichols RB | PIT

Lew Nichols: Reverts to practice squad

Nichols reverted to the Steelers' practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Nichols played nine special-teams snaps in his second elevation to the active roster in 2026. The running back saw zero offensive action and did not appear in the box score. Nichols has one remaining active roster elevation before the Steelers will need to sign the 25-year-old to the active roster for him to appear in any more regular-season games.

  • Commanders' Jacory Croskey-Merritt: In line for larger workload in London

Croskey-Merritt has served as the Commanders' RB1 this season, but his backfield snap count for Week 4 against the Colts figures to be larger due to the absence of Rachaad White (shoulder).

Croskey-Merritt has logged 47 carries through three regular-season games, though he's turned that into only 142 yards (3.0 YPC) and a touchdown while playing less than 50 percent of the Commanders' offensive snaps in two games. White has mostly operated as the change-of-pace, pass-catching RB for the Commanders this season, so Croskey-Merrit figures to see an expanded role Sunday while the former is sidelined. Rookie Kaytron Allen and recently-signed Austin Ekeler are also in the mix for backfield work in London, England.

  • British Brooks RB | HOU

Texans' British Brooks: Lands on injured reserve

Brooks (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Friday.

Brooks will miss at least four games. However, the 26-year-old has only seen action on special teams during the 2026 campaign, so his extended absence won't impact the usual day-to-day operations for the Texans offense.

  • Ty Okada SAF | SEA

Seahawks' Ty Okada: Questionable with hamstring

Okada (hamstring) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Okada upgraded his practice participation in each Week 4 prep session. The strong safety went from a DNP in Wednesday's session to limited Thursday before finally upgrading to a full participant Friday. Despite logging full participation Friday, the 27-year-old remains questionable due to how long he missed with the injury. If Okada can suit up, he will be opposite free safety Julian Love for the first time since the Seahawks' Super Bowl 60 win over the Patriots.

  • Makai Lemon WR | PHI

Eagles' Makai Lemon: Larger role sans Smith

Lemon and Dontayvion Wicks will both operate in larger roles against the Rams on Sunday due to the absence of DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Chris McPherson of the Eagles' official site reports.

The rookie first-rounder has seen his receiving yards steadily increase over the first three games of the regular season, and with Smith sidelined for at least one week, Lemon will have the opportunity to establish himself as a go-to target in the passing game for Jalen Hurts. The Rams will be without starting outside cornerback Jaylen Watson (shoulder), so whomever Los Angeles rolls out as a replacement could be a target that Lemon and the Eagles offense exploits.
