  • Rashee Rice WR | KC

Chiefs' Rashee Rice: Gets in end zone to start season

Rice brought in both targets for 19 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' 31-10 win over the Broncos on Monday night.

Rice was on the receiving end of Patrick Mahomes' first touchdown pass of the season, doing all the work on a 13-yard scoring grab off a wide-receiver screen late in the first half that saw him break multiple tackles. Rice was quiet otherwise, but he did deliver excellent downfield blocking on Travis Kelce's game-long 59-yard catch in the third quarter. Mahomes connected on just five occasions with Rice and fellow starting wideout Xavier Worthy on Monday night, but that volume could certainly increase in a favorable Week 2 home matchup Sunday night against a Colts defense that was exposed in every facet by the Ravens in Week 1.

  • Braxton Berrios: Shifts back to practice squad

Berrios reverted to the Giants' practice squad Monday, according to the NFL's official transaction log.

The wide receiver saw action on 12 offensive snaps and six special-teams snaps in New York's 28-20 win over Dallas on Sunday night, making two fair catches on punts and returning one kickoff for 28 yards. He was elevated for the game primarily to serve as a return specialist. It remains to be seen if Berrios will stay in that role, though he's filled it consistently across an eight-year NFL career.

  • Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN

Broncos' Jaylen Waddle: Nearly blanked in Broncos debut

Waddle brought in one of three targets for two yards in the Broncos' 31-10 loss to the Chiefs on Monday night.

Waddle's regular-season Broncos debut was as miserable as his final line suggests, as the prominent offseason addition finished last in receptions and yards among Denver players that recorded at least one catch. One of the two targets Waddle couldn't corral was a key third-down drop early in the third quarter, although he was hardly the only underwhelming component of a pass-catching corps that produced a modest 131 total receiving yards. More productive performances are surely ahead for Waddle and the Broncos' air attack, with the first opportunity for atonement coming in a Week 2 home showdown against the Jaguars on Sunday.

  • Jets' Jason Sanders: Reverts to New York's practice squad

Sanders reverted to the Jets' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Sanders was elevated to be the starting kicker for the Jets' 23-10 win over the Titans on Sunday. The 30-year-old made three of his four field-goal attempts and both of his PATs, totaling 11 points as he battles Blake Grupe to maintain a role with the team. Sanders made field goals from 33, 51 and 52 yards while missing from 54 yards.

  • Chiefs' Kenneth Walker: Career-high rushing total in Chiefs debut

Walker rushed 23 times for 173 yards and a touchdown and brought in three of six targets for 18 yards and another score in the Chiefs' 31-10 win over the Broncos on Monday night.

Walker paid immediate dividends in his Chiefs regular-season debut, finding the end zone via a fourth-down, 60-yard run around left end early in the third quarter before adding a nifty two-yard scoring grab on a shovel pass from Patrick Mahomes within the first minute of the final period. Walker also rattled off productive gains on the ground throughout, as he still averaged 5.1 yards per carry on the 22 other rush attempts he logged outside of his explosive scoring scamper. Walker will have a tall order trying to improve on Monday night's career-best rushing yardage tally, but a Week 2 home matchup Sunday night against a Colts defense that was gashed repeatedly by the Ravens' Derrick Henry in Week 1 affords Kansas City's new star back an exceedingly bright outlook.

  • CJ Donaldson RB | NO

CJ Donaldson: Reverts to practice squad

Donaldson reverted to the Saints' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

The running back was elevated for New Orleans' 31-30 overtime loss to Detroit due to both Alvin Kamara (knee) and Audric Estime (thigh) being out. Donaldson played a third-string role behind Travis Etienne and Kendre Miller, seeing 15 offensive snaps and recording two carries for four yards and one catch for minus-2 yards. The Ohio State product also played 20 snaps on special teams.

  • Kevin Austin: Reverts to NOLA's practice squad

Austin reverted to the Saints' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Austin played just six total snaps in Sunday's overtime loss to the Lions. The wide receiver played five offensive snaps, good for just five percent of the team's total offensive plays. Austin's extremely minimal usage casts some doubt as to when he might be elevated again.

  • DeeJay Dallas RB | MIN

DeeJay Dallas: Reverts to Minnesota's practice squad

Dallas reverted to the Vikings' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Dallas played just six offensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Packers. The running back made a larger impact on special teams, logging one tackle on kick coverage over 14 special-teams snaps. Dallas can only be elevated two more times, and after that point he may only play for the Vikings if he is signed to the active roster.

  • Cody White WR | LV

Cody White: Reverts to practice squad

White reverted to the Raiders' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

White failed to catch his only target in the Raiders' 27-13 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. The wide receiver played 11 of the 68 offensive snaps for the team, but he added another 14 reps on special teams and recorded three tackles on kick coverage.

  • Tanner Hudson TE | CIN

Tanner Hudson: Moves back to practice squad

Hudson reverted to the Bengals' practice squad after catching one pass for four yards in Sunday's 33-27 win over the Bucs, per the NFL's official transaction log.

The tight end played on six offensive snaps and 13 special-teams snaps. Hudson got the nod over rookie seventh-round pick Jack Endries as the fourth tight end on Cincinnati's depth chart. Endries, though, is not injured, so it's not clear which player will hold down the spot if the Bengals again carry four players at the position in their next game.
