Ronnie Rivers RB | LAR
Rams' Ronnie Rivers: Goes to IR
The Rams placed Rivers (calf) on their injured reserve list Wednesday.
Per Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site, coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that Rivers' calf injury is expected to keep him sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks. McVay also said the team plans to elevate either undrafted rookie Dean Connors or Jordan Waters from its practice squad for Sunday's game at Denver.

Starling Thomas V CB | ARI
Cardinals' Starling Thomas: Signed to active roster
The Cardinals signed Thomas to the active roster from their practice squad Wednesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
Thomas appeared in 17 games for Arizona during the 2024 campaign and logged 47 tackles (31 solo) and a forced fumble, but he missed the entirety of last season due to a torn ACL. With Will Johnson expected to miss the remainder of the season due to a neck injury, Thomas should provide additional depth at corner to help fill the void.

Reggie Gilliam RB | NE
Patriots' Reggie Gilliam: Dealing with knee injury
Gilliam (knee) was a limited participant at the Patriots' practice Wednesday.
Gilliam appears to have left Sunday's 20-3 win over the Steelers a little worse for wear, picking up a knee injury at some point during the contest. The fullback will have two more chances to log a full practice before the team's Week 3 matchup with Jacksonville.
-
Carlton Davis III CB | NE
Patriots' Carlton Davis: Full practice Wednesday
Davis (neck) was a full participant at practice Wednesday.
Davis was unavailable for the team's Week 2 win over the Steelers as a result of a neck injury, but he now appears to be healthy ahead of Sunday's contest against the Jaguars. The 29-year-old will slot in as a starting cornerback versus Jacksonville.

Jonathan Allen DT | CIN
Bengals' Jonathan Allen: Tending to knee issue
Allen (knee) did not participate at practice Wednesday.
It's not immediately clear when Allen picked up the knee injury, but his availability for Week 3 is now in question. He'll probably need to return to practice Thursday or Friday to have a realistic chance of suiting up Sunday at Pittsburgh.

Kene Nwangwu RB | NYJ
Jets' Kene Nwangwu: Remains sidelined Wednesday
Nwangwu (back) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Nwangwu did not practice at all leading up to Week 2 and missed the Jets' overtime loss to the Packers on Sunday. The running back and kick returner has missed every practice and game since sustaining a back injury on Sept. 11. Nwangwu was not placed on IR after the injury, so it is reasonable to expect the 28-year-old to return to the field by Week 4, even if he cannot increase his practice participation soon enough to play in the team's Week 3 contest against the Lions.
-
Isaiah Simmons SAF | CAR
Panthers' Isaiah Simmons: Signed to active roster
The Panthers signed Simmons to the active roster from their practice squad Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Simmons had been elevated for each of the team's first two games, playing 49 snaps on special teams and five on defense, but he failed to record any stats. The 28-year-old will likely continue to serve a similar role going forward.
-
Minkah Fitzpatrick FS | NYJ
Jets' Minkah Fitzpatrick: Doesn't practice Wednesday
Fitzpatrick (groin) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Fitzpatrick missed the Jets' Week 2 loss to the Packers with a groin injury that he is week-to-week with. The starting free safety has now missed four consecutive practices, and there is no sign the 29-year-old will return to the field this week. If Fitzpatrick must miss another game, Andre Cisco will likely be the starting free safety for the second consecutive game Sunday against the Lions.

Cooper Kupp WR | SEA
Seahawks' Cooper Kupp: Limited Wednesday
Kupp (back) was limited in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
The veteran receiver dealt with the back issue in practice last Wednesday before being upgraded to full work Thursday. He could follow a similar path this week. Kupp has just four catches for 55 yards on five targets through two games, as Jaxon Smith-Njigba has dominated the targets and big plays for Seattle.
