Bengals' Jonathan Allen: Coming to Cincinnati
Allen and the Bengals agreed to terms on a two-year, $26 million deal Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The 31-year-old defensive lineman from Alabama is set to join the Bengals after spending his 2025 campaign with the Vikings. Allen has appeared in 25 regular-season games over the last two seasons, recording 87 total tackles, including 6.5 sacks. Additionally, he earned Pro Bowl selections in 2021 and 2022 while playing for the Commanders. Now in Cincinnati, Allen is expected to operate as the Bengals' top interior defensive lineman during the 2026 season.

Vikings' Jonathan Allen: Slated to be released
The Vikings are expected to release Allen in the coming days, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Allen inked a three-year, $51 million deal with the Vikings last offseason, but Minnesota is way over the salary cap and needs to make cost-cutting moves. In releasing Allen, Minnesota would clear $6.5 million in cap space but also retain more than $17.3 million in dead money. In his lone season with the Vikings, Allen started all 17 regular-season contests, recording a career-high 68 tackles (29 solo), including 3.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery on 76 percent of the defensive snaps.

Vikings' Jonathan Allen: Closes campaign with three stops
Allen posted three tackles (one solo) in Sunday's 16-3 win over the Packers. He finished the season with 68 tackles (29 solo), including 3.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery over 17 games.
Allen wasn't prolific but managed to stay healthy in his first campaign outside of Washington after he played in just eight regular-season games for the Commanders last year. The veteran defensive end's 68 stops tied a career-best regular-season mark, though his 3.5 sacks were his fewest over a full season since 2020. This was the first campaign of Allen's three-year contract, though it's not out of the question that the Vikings could opt to cut him in the offseason.

Vikings' Jonathan Allen: Notches seven tackles Christmas Day
Allen posted seven tackles (three solo) during the Vikings' 23-10 win over the Lions on Thursday.
Allen finished Thursday's game with the second-most tackles on the Vikings behind Blake Cashman (17). Allen has posted at least seven stops in back-to-back games and is up to 65 tackles (28 solo), including 3.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery through 16 regular-season games.

Vikings' Jonathan Allen: Sacks Dart in Week 16 victory
Allen posted eight tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, during the Vikings' 16-13 win over the Giants on Sunday.
Allen got to Jaxson Dart for a six-yard sack on the final play of the third quarter. It was Allen's first sack since Week 10 against the Ravens, and the 2017 first-rounder is up to 3.5 sacks through 15 regular-season games. He's also logged 58 combined tackles on the year, which puts him in striking distance of his career high that he set in 2019 as a member of the Commanders (68 tackles through 15 regular-season games). Allen will have two more opportunities to set a new career high in tackles, starting with Christmas Day against the Lions.

Allen tallied four solo tackles, including 1.0 sacks, in Minnesota's loss versus the Ravens on Sunday.
Allen recorded the team's lone sack of Lamar Jackson during the loss. After failing to tally a sack across the first five games of the season, the 30-year-old has been more productive as of late, notching 2.5 sacks across his last four outings.
