Ed Oliver DT | BUF
Bills' Ed Oliver: Ruled out Thursday
Oliver (hip) is inactive for Thursday's game versus the Lions.
Oliver injured his hip during pregame warmups and has since been ruled out. Without Oliver on the field, Landon Jackson should be in line for more snaps.
-
Ty Johnson RB | BUF
Bills' Ty Johnson: Inactive again in Week 2
Johnson (hamstring) is listed as inactive Thursday against the Lions.
Despite being listed as limited on all three of the Bills' Week 2 injury reports, Johnson will continue to don street clothes on game days due to a hamstring issue that has bothered him since at least Aug. 24. In Johnson's absence, Ray Davis will continue to garner RB reps that don't go to starter James Cook, while Frank Gore is on hand in case one of those two leaves the game for any reason.

D.J. Reed CB | DET
Lions' D.J. Reed: Active against Bills
Reed (foot) is active for Thursday's game against the Bills.
Reed has been battling a foot injury, but he will have the green light to suit up versus Buffalo after carrying a questionable tag heading into the contest. The 29-year-old was heavily involved in the 31-30 overtime win over the Saints in Week 1, amassing 10 total tackles and one pass defended.

Ashton Dulin WR | IND
Colts' Ashton Dulin: Doesn't practice Thursday
Dulin (ankle) did not practice Thursday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Dulin missed a second consecutive practice Thursday because of an ankle injury. The 29-year-old wideout was held without a catch in Sunday's 41-23 loss to the Ravens. He also saw action as a member of special teams, as expected. If Dulin can't suit up for the Week 2 meeting with the Chiefs, Seth McGowan may be even busier returning kicks.

Kaelon Black RB | SF
49ers' Kaelon Black: Added to injury report
Black was limited at Thursday's practice due to a groin injury, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Black did not show up on Wednesday's injury report, but he was unable to get a full session in a day later. The extent of his injury is uncertain, but his status will be updated again Friday when the 49ers release their final report before Sunday's matchup with the Dolphins.
-
Brock Bowers TE | LV
Raiders' Brock Bowers: Sits out practice again
Bowers (knee) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Anthony Galaviz of The Fresno Bee reports.
Since undergoing a meniscus trim in his left knee on Tuesday, Sept. 8, Bowers hasn't been able to practice in any capacity and sat out a Week 1 win against the Dolphins. He thus has just one more chance to mix into drills Friday before the Raiders potentially make a ruling on his status for Sunday's game at the Chargers. If Bowers ultimately can't go this weekend, Michael Mayer will be the primary beneficiary at tight end for Las Vegas.
-
George Kittle TE | SF
49ers' George Kittle: Another limited showing
Kittle (Achilles) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Kittle continues to operate with a cap on his practice reps in the early going this season, which isn't a surprise considering he tore his right Achilles nine months ago. In Week 1 against the Rams in Melbourne, Australia, he recorded two catches (on five targets) for 12 yards on a 46 percent snap share, more or less looking like his normal self. Because WRs De'Zhaun Stribling (ankle), Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Christian Kirk (calf) are all sidelined for varying lengths of time, Kittle stands to benefit in the 49ers' passing game, assuming he's active on a weekly basis.

E.J. Williams Jr. WR | CAR
E.J. Williams: Added to Panthers' PS
The Panthers signed Williams to the practice squad Thursday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Williams spent time with the Raiders during the preseason but was waived at the end of August. He will now get another opportunity with the Panthers as a member of the practice squad. Williams played his final collegiate season at Indiana in 2025, accumulating 36 catches for 438 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games.
-
Ladd McConkey WR | LAC
Chargers' Ladd McConkey: Sits out again Thursday
McConkey (ribs) was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's injury report.
McConkey was spotted working with the training staff during the media-viewing portion of Thursday's session, and he wound up not getting any work in for the second time in as many days. Head coach Jim Harbaugh tagged McConkey day-to-day earlier this week, but the wide receiver will be hard-pressed to take the field Sunday against the Raiders if he sits out again Friday.
-
RJ Harvey RB | DEN
Broncos' RJ Harvey: Officially limited Thursday
Harvey (hamstring) was limited at Thursday's practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Harvey opened Week 2 prep with no listed activity on Wednesday's injury report due to a hamstring issue, but one day later he upgraded his workload enough to go down as a limited participant. Ultimately, Friday's practice report will unveil whether or not he heads into the weekend without a designation for Sunday's contest against the Jaguars. In Monday's loss at Kansas City, Harvey paced Denver's backfield with 26 offensive snaps (to J.K. Dobbins' 22), but Harvey managed just seven touches for 41 yards from scrimmage, while Dobbins turned eight carries into 36 yards.
