  • Cole Bishop SAF | BUF

Bills' Cole Bishop: Returns to Sunday's game

Bishop (knee) is back on the field for the start of the second half against the Texans on Sunday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.

Bishop went to the blue medical tent during the first half due to a knee injury. He's been cleared to return for the second half and will resume his spot on defense as the starting strong safety.

  • Jalen Tolbert WR | MIA

Dolphins' Jalen Tolbert: Inactive for Week 1

Tolbert (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

With many unproven wide recievers on the roster, Tolbert will take a backseat to the trio of rookies consisting of Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman. The fifth-year veteran will likely only get a shot at suiting up if the youth do not show enough promise over the next couple of games.

  • Raiders' Aidan O'Connell: Emergency QB3 vs. Miami

O'Connell (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Raiders' emergency third quarterback against the Dolphins on Sunday.

Kirk Cousins beat out first-overall pick Fernando Mendoza for the starting quarterback job Week 1, so O'Connell will suit up as the emergency QB3. As such, O'Connell is prohibited from playing Sunday unless both Cousins and Mendoza were to leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Brady Cook QB | MIA

Dolphins' Brady Cook: Emergency QB for Week 1

Cook (coach's decision) will be the emergency quarterback for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

The Dolphins claimed Cook off waivers from the Jets after cutdown day. The quarterback will sit behind Malik Willis and Kyle McCord, only able to enter the game if both players can no longer participate.

  • Jeremiyah Love RB | ARI

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Set for NFL debut

Love (ankle) is listed as active Sunday at the Chargers.

Love thus has put the high-ankle sprain that he sustained in preseason Week 1 behind him, but considering he wasn't able to practice in more than a limited capacity this week, there's a decent chance that he won't be operating on all cylinders in his NFL debut. The third overall pick in this year's draft also will have to contend with Tyler Allgeier for work out of the Cardinals backfield, so Love may take some time to fulfill his draft status.

  • Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Checks back into Sunday's contest

Thomas (shoulder) returned to Sunday's game against the Browns late in the second quarter, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.

Initially labeled questionable to return after he required a trip to the locker room in the second quarter to have his shoulder examined, Thomas was able to return to the field for the Jaguars' final drive of the first half, which ended in a punt.

  • Lions' Christian Mahogany: Won't return vs. New Orleans

Mahogany (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Saints, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Mahogany went down with a knee injury in the first half. The injury is severe enough for the third-year lineman to be sidelined for the rest of Sunday's game, and he'll undergo more tests to determine whether he'll miss time beyond Week 1. Ben Bartch will fill in at left guard for the time being.

  • Jets' Omar Cooper: Debut ends early with ankle injury

The Jets ruled out Cooper (ankle) for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Titans.

The rookie first-round pick had been listed as questionable to return after injuring his ankle on the Jets' opening drive, shortly after he gained 30 yards on his first NFL reception to set up a touchdown. The Jets should shed more light on the severity of his injury following the game, but for the time being, Cooper's availability for a Week 2 game against the Packers is uncertain.

  • Jets' Minkah Fitzpatrick: Downgraded to doubtful

Fitzpatrick (groin) is now doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Titans, Antwan V. Staley of the New York Daily News reports.

The safety left the game in the first half due to a groin injury. Fitzpatrick did not record a stat before leaving the field. Malachi Moore and Andre Cisco should be in line to see more snaps in his absence.

  • Buccaneers' Jacob Parrish: Won't return Week 1

Parrish (back) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Bengals, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Parrish had to go to the locker room after sustaining a back injury in the second quarter, and the injury is severe enough for him to not return to Sunday's contest. Benjamin Morrison will be more heavily involved defensively in Parrish's absence.
