  • Jenner underwent shoulder surgery Wednesday and could return before the end of the season, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports. That's more bad news for the Blue Jackets, as Jenner is expected to miss 5-6 months. General manager Don Waddell said Thursday that the team hopes Jenner will be able to return for the Blue Jackets' outdoor game against Detroit on March 1, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic. Jenner was expected to see first-line action this season, as the veteran center registered 22 goals, 13 assists, 155 shots on goal and 119 hits in 58 regular-season contests in 2023-24.

Jenner (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site. According to Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch, Jenner suffered a long-term injury in Friday's practice. The 31-year-old Jenner notched 22 goals, 35 points, 155 shots on net and 119 hits in 58 appearances during the 2023-24 regular season. He is projected to be replaced on the top line by Yegor Chinakhov.

  • Jenner sustained an upper-body injury during Friday's practice, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. Jenner lost an edge during practice and slammed into the wall, and he left the ice shortly after. He wasn't on the roster for Friday's preseason finale against the Penguins, but the team hasn't yet provided an update on his status with less than a week remaining until Opening Night against the Wild on Thursday. Jenner's potential absence would leave the Blue Jackets particularly shorthanded after Dmitri Voronkov (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Friday.

  • Jenner (personal) won't be in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus Carolina, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports. Per Blue Jackets reporter Dave Maetzold, coach Pascal Vincent said Monday that it would be up to Jenner as to whether or not he would play against the Hurricanes, and the 30-year-old vet has evidently decided to stay out of the lineup for the final game of the season. Jenner will finish the campaign having picked up 22 goals and 35 points through 58 contests.
