Skjei has warmed up of late -- he has one goal, five assists and 11 shots in his last seven games after putting up six assists and 43 shots in his first 27 games this season. Skjei may provide some short-term value in deep formats if he can keep some heat in his game.

Skjei scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Avalanche. Skjei has a point in each of the last two games after going eight contests without one. His tally Tuesday gave the Predators a 3-2 lead in the third period, but they couldn't make it stick. The 31-year-old defenseman has had a mediocre year so far with eight points, 47 shots on net, 27 blocked shots, 23 hits and a minus-15 rating through 29 appearances in a top-four role. He might be able to improve his offense, but his plus-minus figures to remain poor while playing on a weak team.

The 31-year-old set up Steven Stamkos' game-winning goal in overtime. On the year, Skjei has six assists, 27 shots on net, 14 hits, 14 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating over 19 appearances.

He's added eight shots on net, six blocks, three hits and a plus-2 rating while averaging 22:56 of ice time per contest. Skjei is back on the second pairing, with Roman Josi healthy and productive on the top pairing. Skjei is best suited to a supporting role, but his fantasy profile lacks a standout characteristic, though he has a safe floor as a 30-point blueliner.

Skjei helped Nashville equalize the game twice in regulation before setting up Fedor Svechkov for the winner in overtime. This outburst snapped a three-game dry spell for Skjei, who hadn't had a multi-point effort since Feb. 8 prior to Tuesday. For the season, the left-shot blueliner has registered 10 goals, 21 helpers, 151 shots on net, 38 PIM and a minus-15 rating across 78 appearances.
