• Kraken's Matt Murray: Out for approximately six weeks

  Murray (lower body) is expected to be out of action for about six weeks, the team announced Tuesday. He has been placed on injured reserve, per the NHL media site. Seattle activated Joey Daccord (upper body) from injured reserve ahead of Tuesday's road matchup against Detroit, which vaults him back into the No. 1 position on the depth chart. Once Murray is healthy, he could compete with Philipp Grubauer for spare starts again. The 31-year-old Murray has gone 0-2-1 while allowing eight goals on 102 shots across five appearances this season.

  Murray (lower body) won't return to Saturday's game versus the Sharks. Murray sustained the injury on the Sharks' first goal, a power-play tally by Alexander Wennberg. This puts the Kraken's goalie depth in danger, as Joey Daccord (upper body) is still working his way back from a stint on injured reserve. Murray's status should be updated in the coming days, but if his injury is bad enough, he may find himself on IR.

  Murray will patrol the home crease versus San Jose on Saturday, according to Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network. Murray has played well for the Kraken in a limited role. He is 0-2-1 with a 2.13 GAA and a .926 save percentage in four appearances this season. The Sharks are averaging 3.06 goals per game, a huge increase from last season, when they were 32nd in the NHL, averaging only 2.54 goals per contest.

Murray put in his best performance of the season so far, but he wasn't able to snag a win as Jet Greaves kept things level in the other crease. The 31-year-old Murray has allowed seven goals over four appearances (three starts) to begin his tenure with the Kraken, but he's 0-2-1. He's started the last two games over Philipp Grubauer and has likely earned additional time while Joey Daccord (upper body) is on the mend. It's quite possible Murray is playing for his roster spot, as it could be untenable for the Kraken to carry three goalies once Daccord is healthy.
