  • Cedric Paquette: Signs with KHL club
    By RotoWire

Paquette has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with KHL side Dinamo Minsk, RDS.ca reports. Paquette played in just 24 games for the Canadiens last season while splitting his time between the NHL and AHL. While a return to North America isn't impossible, this could mark the end of Paquette's time in the NHL, where he has played in 448 games over nine seasons, including winning the Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay in 2020.

  • Canadiens' Cedric Paquette: Sent to AHL
    By RotoWire

Paquette cleared waivers and was assigned to AHL Laval on Sunday. Paquette has just two assists through 24 games this season. The 28-year-old forward could be back with the NHL club after a tune-up in the minors.

  • Paquette was waived by Montreal on Saturday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports. Paquette has been a healthy scratch for 14 consecutive contests, so this news doesn't come as a surprise. Look for the 28-year-old forward to be assigned to AHL Laval if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

  • Paquette was a healthy scratch for the 10th consecutive game Saturday. Paquette has yet to be active for interim head coach Martin St. Louis. Saturday represented a chance for Paquette, but the coach instead activated Mathieu Perreault to replace Paul Byron (upper body). The Canadiens were also without Joel Armia (face) and Jonathan Drouin (wrist), but guys like Laurent Dauphin, Michael Pezzetta and Ryan Poehling have earned ice time over Paquette.

  • Paquette had an assist, one shot on net, two hits and two PIM in Monday's 8-2 loss to the Wild. Paquette and Jake Evans teamed up to win a puck battle behind the net, before Paquette set up Rem Pitlick for Montreal's second goal. It was Paquette's second game back from a four-game absence due to an undisclosed injury, and he skated on the fourth line. The 28-year-old forward has two points (both assists), 15 shots, 54 hits and 25 PIM while averaging 9:06 of ice time over 22 games.
