The defenseman continues to look good on the first unit, earning eight of his 12 points this season with the man advantage. He's picked up 29 shots on net, 18 hits, nine blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 16 outings as well.

Gostisbehere posted a power-play assist and two hits in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to Utah. Gostisbehere snapped a five-game point drought with the assist. His production is likely to ebb and flow with the success of the Hurricanes' power play -- he's averaging 4:09 per game with the man advantage. He saw 10:28 of power-play time Wednesday as the Hurricanes had an extended opportunity in the third period, but they couldn't cash in during that stretch. The defenseman has 10 points (six on the power play), 26 shots on net, 16 hits, nine blocked shots, 10 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 15 appearances.

Gostisbehere notched two power-play assists in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Bruins. Gostisbehere helped out on first-period tallies by Martin Necas and Andrei Svechnikov. With three helpers over his last two contests, Gostisbehere remains hot on offense, particularly the power play. The 31-year-old blueliner has nine points (five on the power play), 22 shots on net, 12 hits, eight PIM and a plus-3 rating through nine contests this season. While he's a bit of a power-play specialist, the Hurricanes have also given him an average of 18:48 of ice time -- that's enough work for him to be a fairly consistent scorer for much of the campaign.

Gostisbehere's five-game point streak ended in Saturday's win over Seattle, but the defenseman continues to be a consistent source of offense. He is up to four goals, three assists, 21 shots on net, 11 hits, eight PIM and a plus-2 rating over eight appearances this season. He's averaging 18:50 of ice time per game, including 3:45 on the power play, where he has scored three of his four goals.

Gostisbehere scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Oilers. Gostisbehere has been on a roll to start the season and has found the back of the net in four straight games, including three power-play tallies in a row, though this was his first multi-point effort. Gostisbehere's scoring streak should end sooner rather than later, but there's no doubt he's been one of the most productive blue-liners in the first two weeks of the 2024-25 regular season.
