Ekblad produced two assists, one shorthanded, in Monday's 5-2 win over the Lightning. The 29-year-old helped set up tallies by Sam Reinhart early in the first period and Brad Marchand midway through the second, with the latter proving to be the game-winner. It was Ekblad's first multi-point performance since Oct. 11, and with Seth Jones dominating power-play minutes among Florida defensemen, offense has been tough to come by for the rest of the team's blue-line crew. Through 31 games this season, Ekblad has just one goal and 10 points with 55 blocked shots, 46 shots on net, 34 hits, 20 PIM and a minus-7 rating.

Per George Richards of Florida Hockey Now, head coach Paul Maurice said Thursday that Ekblad was fine after blocking a shot at the end of Wednesday's tilt against Philadelphia and will play Friday versus Calgary. Ekblad had an assist, three blocked shots, two hits and one shot on goal in 21:43 of action against the Flyers on Wednesday. The 29-year-old blueliner has only one goal and seven points across 22 appearances this season.

Ekblad (illness) was on the ice for Monday's morning skate, Rob Darragh of the Panthers' official site reports. As expected, Ekblad is poised to return to the lineup against Nashville on Monday following a one-game absence. He has generated one goal, four assists, 33 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and 23 hits across 20 appearances this season. With Ekblad set to play, Donovan Sebrango will be a healthy scratch, and Uvis Balinskis will be back on the third pairing.

Ekblad (upper body) won't be available for Saturday's home game versus Edmonton. Ekblad's upper-body injury will cause him to miss his first game of the season in a rematch of last year's Stanley Cup Finals. Donovan Sebrango will draw back into the lineup due to Ekblad's absence. The right-shot blueliner's next chance to suit up will come Monday in Nashville.

Ekblad registered an assist, two shots on goal, two hits and three blocked shots in Monday's 8-5 win over the Canucks. Ekblad's November isn't going much better than his October -- he's been limited to two assists with a minus-7 rating over eight games this month. The 29-year-old is at a total of five points, 31 shots on net, 22 hits, 26 blocks, 12 PIM and a minus-6 rating through 19 appearances. The one silver lining is that he hasn't gotten swept up in the Panthers' injury woes yet, but his production has suffered anyway since the team is missing key players. Ekblad can still help in non-scoring areas, and he should bounce back on offense as the year progresses.
