Reilly inked a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Islanders on Monday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports. Reilly was picked up off waivers by the Isles back in late November and went on to play in 59 regular-season contests for the club. The veteran blueliner notched six goals and 18 assists, crossing the 20-point threshold for just the second time in his career. He'll likely remain in a bottom-four role and could be an option for the second power-play unit.

Reilly recorded an assist in Monday's 5-3 loss to Carolina. Reilly's assist came late in the first period when he centered a pass to Kyle Palmieri in the slot to put the Islanders up 1-0. The 30-year-old Reilly recorded 16:50 of ice time to go along with two blocked shots Monday. He will likely skate on the third defensive pairing with Robert Bortuzzo during Thursday's Game 3.

The 30-year-old continues to see steady bottom-four usage, and he's provided decent offense in that role for the Islanders. He's at 20 points, 118 shots on net, 55 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through 56 appearances this season between the Islanders and the Panthers.

Reilly notched an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Ducks. The helper was Reilly's third over the last six games. He continues to provide solid depth offense from a third-pairing role. The defenseman is up to 16 points over 40 contests with the Islanders after opening the year scoreless in two outings for the Panthers. Reilly also has 39 hits, 41 blocked shots, 88 shots on net and a minus-2 rating.

It appears Reilly is gaining traction to stay in the lineup under new head coach Patrick Roy -- the 30-year-old blueliner has been in the lineup for four of the Islanders' six games since Roy took over. Reilly has 11 points, 66 shots on net, 28 hits, 31 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating through 30 outings between the Islanders and the Panthers this season, so he's unlikely to have much utility in fantasy.
