Montour (personal) will play Saturday against Ottawa, according to Kraken TV broadcaster Piper Shaw. Montour missed Thursday's 4-1 loss to Toronto to attend the birth of his daughter. The 30-year-old blueliner has accumulated four goals, nine points, 33 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and 19 hits through 10 appearances this season. Montour's return to a top-four role and a spot on the first power-play unit will likely bump Cale Fleury from Saturday's lineup.

Montour scored three goals, including two on the power play, in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Canadiens. He also logged a power-play assist, four shots on net, two blocks, one hit and two PIM in the victory. Montour's first career hat trick was a natural one, as he scored three consecutive goals over the second and third periods. The power-play points were the first of the season for Montour, who's up to nine points through 10 outings in his first year with the Kraken. The 30-year-old blueliner, who entered the night averaging a career-high 24:21 of ice time per game, was able to cruise Tuesday at just 17:50 TOI.

Montour logged an assist and two hits in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets. Montour led all Kraken skaters with 26:52 of ice time. The 30-year-old is picking up a lot of the slack created in the absence of Vince Dunn (upper body), including on the power play. Montour is up to one goal, four assists, 29 shots on net, 13 hits, seven blocked shots, six PIM and a plus-3 rating through eight contests. Any concerns about his offense declining with his move from Florida to Seattle have yet to be a factor, and Montour should continue to be productive while serving as the Kraken's de facto No. 1 blueliner.

Montour set up Jordan Eberle for the game-winning goal 48 seconds into the extra session. Through six contests, Montour has a goal, three assists, 25 shots on net, nine hits, five blocked shots and a plus-4 rating. The 30-year-old defenseman saw a season-high 26:02 of ice time Saturday, and he continues to cement himself as an important part of the Kraken's play in all three zones.

Montour scored a goal on three shots and added four PIM in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Flyers. Montour scored from distance in the first period. In the third, he receiving a double-minor for roughing during a scrum. It's not unusual for Montour to show some snarl -- he had 104 hits in the regular season last year, and he produced 107 PIM the year before that. Through five appearances this season, he has three points, 19 shots on net, eight hits, three blocked shots, six PIM and a plus-3 rating while filling a top-four role to begin his Kraken career.
