  • Heinen scored a goal on two shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Ducks. Heinen had been held off the scoresheet in the previous four contests. This was his second multi-point effort of the campaign following a two-goal game Oct. 22 versus the Blackhawks. The 29-year-old forward is up to three goals, three assists, 10 shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-4 rating through 11 appearances, playing mainly in a bottom-six role.

The left-shot forward is currently filling a third-line role while skating with the second power-play unit. • Heinen produced a power-play assist and two PIM in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Flames. Heinen helped out on a Daniel Sprong tally in the first period. The 29-year-old Heinen was listed on the Canucks' top line, but he saw just 14:00 of ice time in this contest. The winger signed a two-year deal with the Canucks after posting 36 points in 74 regular-season games with the Bruins last year, his most productive campaign in six years. While he has a good assignment to start 2024-25, he could slip into a middle-six role if his offense gets cold at any stage of the season.

  • Heinen signed a two-year, $4.5 million contract with Vancouver on Monday. Heinen produced 17 goals, 36 points, 119 shots on net and 83 hits in 74 regular-season contests for Boston in 2023-24. The 28-year-old forward will likely occupy a bottom-six role with the Canucks in 2024-25.

  • Heinen struggled in the playoffs, generating a lone helper in eight games, after reaching the 30-point threshold in the regular season. Heinen was back with the Bruins after last playing for the organization during the 2019-20 campaign. Despite limited power-play opportunities, the 28-year-old winger produced 17 goals and 19 assists, topping 30 points for the fourth time in his eight-year career. Looking ahead to next season, Heinen will hit the open market July 1 and could sign with a new team.
