  • Grzelcyk logged a power-play assist and three blocked shots in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Islanders. Grzelcyk is humming along with five helpers over his last seven contests in a top-four role on the Penguins' blue line. The 30-year-old defenseman is up to seven assists, 18 shots on net, 21 blocked shots, 11 hits and a minus-7 rating over 14 contests, and two of his helpers have come on the power play. He's never reached the 30-point mark in a single season, but he could challenge for that level if he's able to stay healthy in 2024-25, something that has often been a problem for Grzelcyk over his first seven full campaigns.

  • Grzelcyk recorded an assist and went minus-2 in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks. Grzelcyk has two assists over his last three games, though that's unlikely to lead to an extended run of offense. The 30-year-old defenseman can chip in occasionally, but he plays more of a shutdown role. Grzelcyk's at four helpers, 16 shots on net, 18 blocked shots, seven hits and a minus-6 rating through 10 appearances this season.

  • Grzelcyk notched an assist, three blocked shots, two shots on goal and two PIM in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Flames. Grzelcyk helped out on a Rickard Rakell tally in the third period. Through eight contests, Grzelcyk has maintained a top-four role while earning three assists, 14 shots on net, 14 blocked shots, six hits and a minus-3 rating. He's topped the 25-point mark just once in his career, so the 30-year-old defenseman is unlikely to score enough to help most fantasy managers, and he rarely makes up for it with non-scoring production.

  • Grzelcyk had two assists, one blocked shot and one hit in Monday's 6-3 win over Montreal. Grzelcyk had a hand in Pittsburgh's final two goals, his first points of the season. The defenseman traded in one black-and-gold uniform for another, signing with the Penguins this summer after eight seasons with the Bruins. He's playing in a top-four role and averaging 20:47 of ice time per game.

  • Grzelcyk signed a one-year, $2.75 million contract with the Penguins on Monday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. Grzelcyk had two goals, 11 points, 37 PIM, 53 hits and 76 blocked shots in 63 regular-season outings with Boston in 2023-24. He'll probably serve on the Penguins' third pairing.
