  Lafreniere scored a goal on two shots, dished an assist and blocked two shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Golden Knights. Lafreniere and Mika Zibanejad set up each other's goals in the second period. The 24-year-old Lafreniere now has three points over his last two outings, and Sunday's multi-point effort was his first such game since Nov. 10 versus the Predators. For the season, Lafreniere has seven goals, 17 points, 61 shots on net, 55 hits, 18 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through 31 appearances. He should continue to fill a top-six role.

Lafreniere ended a five-game drought without a point Monday when he scored New York's first goal of the second period to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead. With the twine finder, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft has five goals, 13 points, 48 shots on net and 39 hits through 24 games this season. Despite cooling down since a nine-point run during an eight-game stretch near the start of November, Lafreniere is back on the Rangers' top line and averaging the second-most time on ice of his young career. There are reasons to be both skeptical and optimistic about Lafreniere moving forward, but if he can replicate the stretch of points he had to begin the month, the 24-year-old winger would go back to having solid streaming appeal in most fantasy formats.

The 24-year-old winger was among the Rangers' slowest starters this season, but he appears to be piecing it together now. He's had some good runs that didn't last in previous years, so fantasy managers expecting him to live up to his No. 1 overall status (2020) should probably be a little more patient. Nonetheless, he's produced four goals, 12 points, 40 shots on net, 24 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 18 appearances, a pace that puts him in the neighborhood of matching his career-best 57-point effort from the 2023-24 campaign.

  Lafreniere scored a power-play goal and added two even-strength assists in Monday's 6-3 win over the Predators. All three points came in the second period as the Rangers pulled away and secured their first win on home ice this season. Lafreniere benefitted from having his usual center, Vincent Trocheck, back in action, but the 24-year-old winger was also finding a groove on his own, producing two goals and eight points over the last seven contests.
