Suzuki one-timed a pass from David Savard, beating Charlie Lindgren just inside the post to tie the game at 3-3 late in the second period. The 25-year-old Suzuki also fed Cole Caufield for Montreal's fourth goal. The two-point night extended Suzuki's point streak to six games, during which he has two goals and seven assists.

After opening the campaign with a six-game goal-scoring drought, Suzuki finally put a puck in a net. His first came in the first period after the Rangers went up 4-0. The captain then connected on the power play early in the second period, closing the gap to 4-2, when he worked around a defender and beat an outstretched Igor Shesterkin with a backhander. He now has points in five straight.

Suzuki picked up the secondary helper on Cole Caufield's second goal that tied the game, setting up the overtime and shootout. The assist extended Suzuki's point streak (all assists) to four games.
