Hughes scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Bruins. Hughes wasn't in the lineup Saturday versus the Senators as he got settled in following Friday's trade. The 26-year-old slotted in for 26:55 of ice time and had the Wild's fourth goal of the contest, making an immediate impact in his team debut. He's now at three goals, 21 assists, 77 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating over 27 appearances when accounting for his time with the Canucks to begin the year. Hughes' scoring potential should tick up a bit with the Wild, who have a much stronger supporting cast.

Hughes won't be in the lineup against Ottawa on Saturday, but he will make his Minnesota debut versus Boston on Sunday, per Michael Russo of The Athletic. The Wild acquired Hughes in a blockbuster trade with Vancouver on Friday. The Canucks received Marco Rossi (lower body), Liam Ohgren, Zeev Buium and a 2026 first-round pick in exchange for Hughes. The 26-year-old Hughes has registered two goals, 23 points, 74 shots on net and 32 blocked shots across 26 appearances this season.

Hughes was traded to the Wild from the Canucks on Friday in exchange for Marco Rossi (lower body), Zeev Buium, Liam Ohgren and a 2026 first-round pick, Darren Dreger of TSN reports. Per Michael Russo of The Athletic, Hughes' Minnesota debut will be Sunday versus the Bruins. Hughes' divorce from the Canucks went much quicker than last year's J.T. Miller saga. The Wild will accelerate their competitive timeline by acquiring Hughes, who immediately slots in as their top defenseman, bumping Brock Faber down to the second power-play unit. Hughes has 23 points (12 on the power play) and a minus-10 rating over 26 appearances this season, but his offense should take off with a more competent supporting cast, which includes a true superstar winger in Kirill Kaprizov.

Hughes scored a power-play goal on six shots and went minus-2 in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Flames. Hughes scored in response to a Blake Coleman shorthanded tally in the third period. The Canucks didn't build off Hughes' goal, which was the last in the game. The defenseman has a goal and seven helpers over his last four outings while playing massive minutes in a top-pairing role. He's at two goals, 21 points (11 on the power play), 52 shots on net, 20 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through 18 appearances. Even with the Canucks sliding in the standings, Hughes will find ways to get involved on offense.

Hughes racked up three assists, one on the power play, in Monday's 8-5 loss to the Panthers. The star blueliner missed last Friday's game with a minor upper-body injury, but that hasn't slowed Hughes down. He's erupted for at least three helpers in each of his last three games, piling up 10 in total, and on the season Hughes has one goal and 20 points in 16 contests -- putting him second in the NHL for points by a defenseman behind Cale Makar's 25 in 19 games.
