  • Flames' Dustin Wolf: Shaky in loss
    By RotoWire

Wolf allowed five goals on 28 shots in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to Utah. Wolf has allowed nine goals on 62 shots over his last two outings, both losses. The 23-year-old started 2024-25 with three straight wins, but it appears things are evening out for the Flames. Wolf is now 3-2-0 with a 3.19 GAA and a .907 save percentage over five starts. If he continues to alternate starts with Dan Vladar, Wolf's next game would be Sunday at home versus the Oilers, sans Connor McDavid (ankle).

  • Wolf will tend the twine on the road versus Utah on Wednesday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports. Wolf has been splitting starts with Dan Vladar, with the duo going every other night through the first nine games of the campaign. In his four outings this year, the 23-year-old Wolf is 3-1-0 with a 2.74 GAA and .924 save percentage. Based on the current rotation, Vladar will get the nod at home Friday versus New Jersey before Wolf is back in the crease at home against the Oilers on Sunday.

  • Wolf turned aside 30 of 34 shots in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Jets, with Winnipeg's final goal getting scored into an empty net. The 23-year-old kept Calgary in the game with some big stops, but Winnipeg took a 3-2 lead just 61 seconds into the third on a Dylan Samberg slap shot that sailed well over the net, bounced off the end glass and caromed into the Flames' net off Wolf's back. It's the first loss of the season for Wolf, who has gone 3-1-0 with a 2.74 GAA and .924 save percentage while splitting starts with Dan Vladar. Expect the timeshare to continue as long as both goalies are playing well in the Calgary crease.

  • Wolf stopped 31 of 32 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks. Seven of those saves came against Connor Bedard as Wolf was dialed in to earn his second win in as many starts. The Flames' defense has been a bit leaky in Wolf's outings -- he's stopped 68 of 72 shots. The 23-year-old has alternated starts with Dan Vladar, and with the Flames off to a 4-0-0 start, that pattern may continue. The Flames have some extra rest before a one-game road trip to face the Kraken on Saturday.

  • Wolf will draw the start for Tuesday's home matchup against Chicago, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports. Wolf will make his second appearance of the season -- he turned aside 37 of 40 shots in Saturday's 6-3 victory against the Flyers. The California native will look to help the Flames improve to 4-0-0 against a Chicago team that's scored eight goals through three contests.
