The trio combined for three goals and eight points, all of which came in a dominant third period that extinguished any chance of a Flames comeback. Through eight outings, Schwindt has put up three assists, seven shots on net, eight blocked shots, five hits and a plus-4 rating. He's not guaranteed to be in the lineup all the time, but a performance like the one he had Monday should earn him some favor over Brendan Brisson in the short term. Schwindt was claimed off waivers from Calgary just before the season started, and he's stuck around on the NHL roster. He didn't play in the opener, but he replaced Brendan Brisson in the lineup Friday and set up a Shea Theodore tally in the second period. Schwindt is likely to be limited to bottom-six minutes when he's in the lineup, and while there's some physicality in his game, the lack of ice time will keep him off the radar in most fantasy formats.

  Schwindt was claimed off waivers by the Golden Knights on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Schwindt spent training camp with the Flames on a one-year, two-way contract but was placed on waivers Monday. The 23-year-old has made just seven regular-season appearances in the NHL, but he'll land with Vegas ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. Even though he'll be with a different organization this year, it wouldn't be surprising to see him spend most of the season in the minors.
