  • Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Warming trend continues

Marchessault scored a goal in a 4-2 loss to the Capitals on Thursday.

Marchessault's overall numbers (10 goals, seven assists; 38 games) fail to impress. But there has been some warmth to this game during this cold January and February. Marchessault has seven points, including three goals, in his last eight games. He has 27 shots in that span.

  • Dylan Strome C | WAS

Capitals' Dylan Strome: Five points in last five games

Strome put up two assists in a 4-2 win over the Predators on Thursday.

Strome has five points (two goals, three assists) in his last five games (nine shots), and he has 14 points, including six goals, in his last 14 games (33 shots). And now that Pierre-Luc Dubois has returned after missing 47 games, Strome should feel the relief of having another big body down the middle.

  • Sabres' Konsta Helenius: Reassigned after Thursday's game

Helenius was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Thursday.

Helenius will get steady playing time with Rochester while the NHL is on its Olympic break. The 19-year-old has four points in his first nine NHL contests. If the team is still hurting up front after the break, Helenius would seem to be a likely candidate to return to the big club.

  • Noel Acciari C | PIT

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Slated to miss Thursday's game

Acciari (illness) is slated to miss Thursday's game in Buffalo, per Josh Yohe of The Athletic.

Acciari has six goals, 15 points, 46 hits and 31 blocks in 42 outings in 2025-26. Avery Hayes might be in line to make his NHL debut due to the absence of Acciari.

  • Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Unavailable Thursday

Rodrigues will miss Thursday's game in Tampa Bay due to an illness, per Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.

Rodrigues has 10 goals and 25 points in 56 outings in 2025-26. Luke Kunin is set to draw into the lineup due to Rodrigues' absence. This is Panthers' final game before the Olympic break, so Rodrigues' next opportunity to play for Florida will come Feb. 26 versus Toronto.

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Ruled out for Olympics

Point (lower body) has been ruled out of the upcoming Olympics for Team Canada, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports Thursday.

Point is on long-term injured reserve and hasn't played for the Lightning since Jan. 12 due to his lower-body injury. His status for the Olympics was up in the air, but he'll ultimately be held out and replaced by Seth Jarvis. His next opportunity to suit up for Tampa Bay will be Feb. 25 against Toronto, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to do so.

  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Crosses 700-assist mark in career

MacKinnon posted two assists, four shots on goal and a plus-4 rating in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.

MacKinnon's first assist was the 700th in his career. The 30-year-old has also crossed the 400-goal and 1,100-point marks this season, though he's likely done with reaching any round numbers for the regular season. He's earned five points over his last five outings, and he's up to 40 goals, 53 assists, 244 shots on net, 45 hits, 29 blocked shots, and a plus-48 rating over 55 appearances.

  • Brock Nelson C | COL

Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Pots empty-netter Wednesday

Nelson scored an empty-net goal on five shots and added two PIM in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.

Nelson produced 15 goals and nine assists over 19 games between the holiday break and the Olympic break. The American center will be heading to Italy for the Olympics, and he goes international with plenty of momentum on his side. For the season, the 34-year-old has 29 goals, 49 points, 125 shots on net, 42 blocked shots, 28 hits and a plus-7 rating through 55 appearances. He'll likely be a steady source of two-way play during the Olympics.

  • Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Gathers pair of helpers

Marchessault notched two assists, including one on the power play, in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime win over the Wild.

Marchessault has four assists over his last four games, and his power-play helper Wednesday was his first contribution with the man advantage since Dec. 13 versus the Avalanche. The winger was on the second line after a long stint on the third line following his return from a lower-body injury. He's at 16 points, 85 shots on net, 50 hits and a minus-18 rating over 37 appearances this season.

  • Predators' Ryan O'Reilly: Distributes three assists

O'Reilly recorded three assists, two blocked shots and two PIM in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Wild.

O'Reilly has five points over two games in February. The 34-year-old is up to a total of 20 goals, 36 helpers, 101 shots on net, 43 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating through 56 appearances. He's on track to reach the 70-point mark for the first time since the 2018-19 campaign with the Blues, when he had a career-high 77 points in 82 appearances. He may not be able to keep up a point-per-game pace this year, as he's shooting a career-high 19.8 percent.
