  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Registers assist in win

Byfield logged an assist and two PIM in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Canucks.

Byfield ended a four-game slump when he helped out on a Warren Foegele tally in the third period. The 22-year-old Byfield had a strong second half of December, but his offense has dipped again in January. For the season, he's at 21 points, 79 shots on net, 37 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-7 rating through 42 appearances in a middle-six role.

  • Kings' Anze Kopitar: Grabs helper Thursday

Kopitar notched an assist, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Canucks.

Kopitar has been limited to two assists over six games in January, though this was the first time in that span where the Kings scored more than three goals. The 37-year-old's five blocks were also a season high. The center is up to 41 points, 54 shots on net, 33 blocks and a plus-20 rating through 42 contests. Kopitar is playing at a high level in all zones and remains a steady option for fantasy managers.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Erupts for three points

Turcotte scored twice on four shots and dished an assist in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Canucks.

Turcotte tallied the first two goals of the game and set up an Adrian Kempe goal before the first period was halfway done. That was more than enough for the Kings to come away with the win. Turcotte has three goals and three assists over his last seven outings, and he's now at seven tallies, 12 helpers, 46 shots on net and a plus-15 rating through 37 appearances. He's firmly in the Kings' top nine, which comes with good opportunities as the team sticks with an 11-forward, seven-defensemen alignment.

  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Pots pair of goals in loss

MacKinnon scored two goals and added two PIM in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Oilers.

MacKinnon has a trio of multi-point efforts over his last four contests. The superstar center built the Avalanche up to a 3-0 lead in the first period, but it crumbled away over the final two frames. MacKinnon still leads the NHL with 72 points (17 goals, 55 assists) while adding 173 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating through 46 outings.

  • Panthers' Anton Lundell: Second goal in 22 games

Lundell scored his 10th goal of the season Thursday in a 5-2 loss to the Red Wings.

Lundell hadn't put up a goal over his last six appearances, and Thursday's goal was just his second over his last 22 outings. Lundell has always had a reputation of a potential Selke winner -- his defense is that good. However, he needs to put up more offense, and that's tough with mediocre skating and a checking line focus. Still, Lundell does have 29 points in 45 games, so even with this slowdown, he could beat his career-best mark in points (44).

  • Dylan Larkin C | DET

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Four consecutive 20-goal seasons

Larkin had two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over the Panthers on Thursday.

He now has 20 goals on the season. Larkin is the first Red Wings player with four consecutive 20-goal seasons since Henrik Zetterberg had seven straight from 2005-12. The 28-year-old Larkin is on a three-game, six-point streak (three goals, three assists), with 41 points and 121 shots in 44 games.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Notches pair of assists in win

Draisaitl logged two assists and three shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Avalanche.

Draisaitl has two goals and six helpers during his five-game point streak. The 29-year-old forward helped out on goals by Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard in this contest, which helped erase the Avalanche's early 3-0 lead. Draisaitl continues to dominate on offense this season. He's at 31 goals, 36 assists, 143 shots on net and a plus-28 rating through 45 appearances in his usual top-six role.

  • Leo Carlsson C | ANA

Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Snaps seven-game goal drought

Carlsson scored a goal Thursday in a 4-3 shootout loss to Tampa Bay.

He snapped a seven-game goal drought with his ninth tally of the season. Carlsson has a bright future, but he's still just 20 years old, and the pre-draft hype around him was intense. It's a cautionary tale for fantasy managers in redraft formats to avoid getting caught in the excitement. So far, he has 16 points and 53 shots over 39 games this season, which is a step back for the sophomore.

  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Big part of comeback win

McDavid scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Avalanche.

McDavid's 20th goal of the season tied the game in the second period, erasing a three-goal deficit. He then set up Evan Bouchard's tally in the third that completed the Oilers' comeback. McDavid has five goals and five assists over his last six outings, a span that includes three multi-point efforts. The superstar center is up to 64 points, 129 shots on net, 25 hits and a plus-13 rating through 42 appearances.

  • Hockey Club's Nick Schmaltz: Draws power-play helper

Schmaltz notched a power-play assist, five shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.

Schmaltz has two goals and three assists during his four-game point streak. The 28-year-old earned the secondary helper on Logan Cooley's tally in Thursday's loss. Schmaltz is up to 34 points (12 on the power play), 97 shots on net and a minus-13 rating through 44 outings. He continues to fill a playmaking role on the top line and first power-play unit.
