  • Leo Carlsson C | ANA

Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Snaps seven-game goal drought

Carlsson scored a goal Thursday in a 4-3 shootout loss to Tampa Bay.

He snapped a seven-game goal drought with his ninth tally of the season. Carlsson has a bright future, but he's still just 20 years old, and the pre-draft hype around him was intense. It's a cautionary tale for fantasy managers in redraft formats to avoid getting caught in the excitement. So far, he has 16 points and 53 shots over 39 games this season, which is a step back for the sophomore.

  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Big part of comeback win

McDavid scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Avalanche.

McDavid's 20th goal of the season tied the game in the second period, erasing a three-goal deficit. He then set up Evan Bouchard's tally in the third that completed the Oilers' comeback. McDavid has five goals and five assists over his last six outings, a span that includes three multi-point efforts. The superstar center is up to 64 points, 129 shots on net, 25 hits and a plus-13 rating through 42 appearances.

  • Hockey Club's Nick Schmaltz: Draws power-play helper

Schmaltz notched a power-play assist, five shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.

Schmaltz has two goals and three assists during his four-game point streak. The 28-year-old earned the secondary helper on Logan Cooley's tally in Thursday's loss. Schmaltz is up to 34 points (12 on the power play), 97 shots on net and a minus-13 rating through 44 outings. He continues to fill a playmaking role on the top line and first power-play unit.

  • Clayton Keller RW | UTA

Hockey Club's Clayton Keller: Power-play assist in loss

Keller logged a power-play assist and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.

Keller helped out on a Logan Cooley tally early in the second period. With five assists over his last six games, Keller has remained solid on offense despite a lack of goals. The winger is up to 44 points (18 on the power play), 108 shots on net and a minus-6 rating through 43 outings.

  • Hockey Club's Barrett Hayton: Dishes two assists

Hayton produced two assists and four shots on goal in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.

Hayton had the primary helper on both of Matias Maccelli's goals in this contest. This was Hayton's first multi-point effort since Dec. 22 versus the Ducks. The center spent much of the campaign on the first line, but over the last week, he has been on the second line while Logan Cooley plays between Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz. Hayton is at 20 points, 68 shots on net, 26 blocked shots, 21 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 44 appearances.

  • Logan Cooley C | UTA

Hockey Club's Logan Cooley: Buries power-play tally

Cooley scored a power-play goal on two shots and went minus-2 in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.

Cooley continues to be steady on offense. This was his third straight game with a point, and he has six goals and four assists over 13 contests since his last multi-point effort. The 20-year-old center is up to 13 goals, 38 points (14 on the power play), 90 shots on net, 32 hits and a plus-1 rating through 44 contests. Cooley should be on most fantasy rosters by now, especially since his move to the top line over the last week.

  • Lightning's Jake Guentzel: First goal in six games

Guentzel scored in regulation and had the only successful attempt in the shootout in a 4-3 win over the Ducks on Thursday.

Guentzel gave the Bolts a 2-1 lead on the power play in the second period when he pounded in a rebound from the net front. It was his first goal in six games. Guentzel has 22 goals, 21 assists and 110 shots in 42 games on the season, and is on pace for another point-per-game season.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Sees red twice in OT loss

Hischier scored twice Thursday in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.

Hischier has three goals in his last two games and 22 in 47 games. But he has just four points including those three snipes, in his last nine games. Hischier isn't likely to hit the point-per-game plateau this season for the second time in his career, but a 65-point year is possible. Then it's decision time for fantasy managers -- is he a 60-67 point guy after delivering in that range three times in his last four seasons. Or is Hischier the point-per-game pivot he was in 2022-23 (80 points, 81 games). We're watching that carefully, because that's a huge difference in fantasy value.

  • Filip Chytil C | VAN

Rangers' Filip Chytil: Generates assist in win

Chytil recorded an assist and three shots on goal in Thursday's 5-3 win over Utah.

Chytil had been held off the scoresheet in his previous two games, though he also missed two contests due to an upper-body injury in that span. The 25-year-old has resumed his usual role as the Rangers' third-line center since returning Tuesday. He's now at 18 points, 76 shots on net and a plus-6 rating through 35 games, giving him some fantasy appeal as an offense-only option in deep formats.

  • Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Logs helper in loss

Johnston had an assist, three shots on net and two hits in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Canadiens.

Johnston picked up his second assist in as many games when he recorded the secondary helper on Jason Robertson's first-period strike. The top-line center has emerged from a cold start to the season -- just seven points through his first 17 outings -- and has 25 points over the last 27 contests.
